The young change their jobs every 4 or 5 years now, they're looking for that extra £1 per hour. Perhaps Labour will make a slight difference?

Speaking to the younger members in my DO it doesn't seem to be about money or the T&Cs because it's much the same everywhere, it's more about the experience.

If it suits their lifestyle and allows them to do what they want to do outside work they'll stick around, if it doesn't they won't.

Over the last few years it's amazing how I've seen so many new faces in our depot. That can't be good for the company who have devalued our jobs to the extent that they have taken it to a completely new level of sh*tness.

Yes, a few left on IHR with bad backs and dodgy knees and a few retired early before all these changes. But there have been many that have just had enough and left the business. Surely, it's no coincidence that sick pay was costing the company £250 million a year. Whilst I know that a few posties often pull sickies, you have to ask yourself whether they would do this if it was truly a great place to work??

So I'm a bit surprised by the 75% who voted yes. Maybe it's because people can't afford to lose anymore money whereas if there wasn't a deal we would probably not get the small pay rise and the bonus. Even the yes voters on here seem to agree that it is a poor deal but there's no real alternative.

which is rather sad, becoming the "gig economy" company our own union promised they wouldn't let happen
i'm in a d/o of around 100, half "try" to keep up the reliable service once held, the other half either want out or don't give a toss

Sickies will still happen guy in ours who is a habitual sicky taker said the other day see if the employer said if i can take 150 quid of your wages but you get a month paid to sit on your arse what would you say...i genuinely didn't know wot to say

Ask them same question when they hit a stage 2 then a rturem only takes a few days off with that flu they never had.also 6 months an off a stage now 12 months the days of the so called wise are gone lol

I get what your saying you don't know whats round the corner but this guy has been doing it for decades even when it was the year long warnings a good few years ago people always say his luck will run out but its been 28 yearshes quite close to retirement now so dont think he gives a s**t,i have seen him coming to work like a half shut knife f****d with cold/flu because hes on a warning then as soon as its clear boom in goes a sickie f***ing unreal.
