New Employee - What does the "Yes" vote mean for me?
Hi,
I have received an email from RM with a formal offer of employment for the position of "Postperson with Driving", but no employment contract yet.
So I have no employment contract yet, only an email offering me a position.
How does today's "Yes" vote effect me?
Thanks.

It means Job Security with an Elite Company on the Up and UP, and with the CWU the strongest union in the land.lee.uk wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 16:57Hi,

You will be on six months trial period I think it is ask for it in that period to know your days and hours required to work or I would ring up and ask,I would ignore what todays vote means its more for the staff been here a while with older contracts.lee.uk wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 16:57Hi,

Look at the employment contract and decide if you can live with the t&c's, then decide if you want the job.

You may have to work sundays , the job advert should have told you this , i have mates just started who previously worked for DPD, they much prefer RM, they are working Wednesday to Sunday , with the chance to work on their days off.

Go directly to Royal Mail. Do not pass Go. Do not collect £900.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

As a newly appointed employee of a once great public service....you will be keen to impress your smiling manager, then you will realize your start and finish time is a mear illusion.Family friendly is a buzz work which means nothing. You will then be expected to do everything that nobody else is willing to do as you don't want to let the team down!!! Until you realize there is no team. You will be shocked and amazed by the many wonderful vehicles you will be expected to declare as roadworthy(they will baffle you as to how the pass an mot until you find out royal mail do there own mot`s.Then you will marvel at how a company can survive as you realize how badly run it is.Your technology will let you down the rain will drive you mad the heat will kill you.i could go in I've bored myself now.But look on the bright side time off during the week because you have a contract that makes you work on the 7th day.But you will be pestered routinely to work any and every day off for about £55 after tax.lee.uk wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 16:57Hi,

Russian conscripts have contracts better than ours at least if they are dead they are not required to work!postieblueshirt wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 18:15As a newly appointed employee of a once great public service....you will be keen to impress your smiling manager, then you will realize your start and finish time is a mear illusion.Family friendly is a buzz work which means nothing. You will then be expected to do everything that nobody else is willing to do as you don't want to let the team down!!!
