Re: The vote is in : 75.8% yes
So the vote is in and the die is cast.
The future is not going to be rosy no matter how both sides spin it. Although i would imagine the days of spin from RM are over and the days of imposition are coming.
I will probably leave the union, i am perfectly capable of defending myself, and i can't see them having much influence from here on in.

Well the CWU shout it from the rooftops about 75.8% Because most will leave after the payout of £1400 and backpay so party on. Because the people who replace us will not join a union with £11.59 an hour pay rate good luck CWU you will need it to survive!

I think the last 12 months have changed the dynamics of RM workplace forever.FilthyBloke wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 17:37I was a bit worried that it might be a NO vote and all the uncertainty that would bring.
So this is something we can at least move forward with.
I didn’t get to vote but 75% is massive, much larger than I expected.
I hope the CWU now go after the low letterboxes and other issues they can actually help with.
It was never going to be a no vote once the Union leadership accepted it FB. A no vote would have been disastrous for the Union leadership so they had to pull out all the stops. Credit to them, but what next?? Half of the members are clearly disillusioned as proven by the non voters.

By November the Union will be roundly criticised for failing to prevent carnage to T&Cs. The £1000 bung will be a distant memory.

Seconded. Good luck you short sighted halfwits.Shadedpostie wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 16:58Cool, at this point couldn't of given a s**t whatever happens to this company. You have a union that fumbled the bag majorly, a dumbass board of dipshits that somehow turned a £750 million profit into the sorry state it's in now, and also thick as pig s**t posties that continue to come into work for f**k all, rush around like headless chicken and then moan about more being put on them. Be taking the money and getting the hell outta this circus.
and like that,,,,, poof,,,, he was gone.

Re: The vote is in : 75.8% yes
I think that is why a lot of the membership are thinking of jacking in their membership? They see no protection from the Union now ,which is sad, but it's what it's become. I for one cannot see it any other way, unless in the unlikely event someone can convince me otherwise?vila465 wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 17:01Woody in most circumstances I would be inclined to agree with you regarding the silent majority. I personally voted no but I'm not gonna criticise anyone who voted yes- but i genuinely think most decided to vote yes - not because its a good deal , but rather the fact that the Cwu are now finished as we know it. To stand back and allow executive action to be taken while they had a signed agreement to pause realignments was the final nail in the coffin and unfortunately RM will now do whatever like whenever they like from now on

Exactly, what little clout the Union had is even less now, i'd even say they have zero influence.derricksmyth wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 18:05I think that is why a lot of the membership are thinking of jacking in their membership? Very disappointed but not surprised
We have been sold out but we have to live with this
However this is the beginning of our t&c being destroyed not the end
Sad pathetic day for the CWU - they will feel very smug about themselves but they should be ashamed - deep down they will know that themselves
CWU have virtually no power/influence left and RM know it
