We do as directed.
170 odd calls in a four and a half hour delivery span is plenty, even for 2 people and one van.
There literally was no time to do any letters other than the ones we put with the tracked items.
Why would you both drive round doing parcels? Why can't one do them while the other takes a trolley and delivers some mail?

That's what my manager would say , no way would he let 2 people drive round doing parcels together
You could get sacked for that - waisting time

Our office is, and has been doing a 5 day week for the past 2 years. There's no day off cover = mail goes out 5 days a week. No sign of us ever employing more staff to cover days off.

5 day service is here.

Same in ours and most places I'd imagine.I think they have went a step to far and have tipped the scale's way to much to recover any quality of service they once had.

Makes you wonder why they can not fund our pay rise with all the backhanders going to OFCOM!

I think I actually prefer the current setup where we have a rolling day off. It breaks up the week. Doing Mon-Fri means walking 10miles+ a day 5 days in a row. I think I am more likely to be even more shattered if this was implemented.

Obviously, it doesn't necessarily mean us posties will be working Mon-Fri if the USO went that way, but likely means that most of us will as they will need a relatively small amount of posties to deliver parcels on Sat/Sun.
Yip and defo won't need non drivers😀
Think that’s funny!
Nasty man - thousands of people lose their jobs who’ve probably been in years longer than you
You picked me up wrong chief what i meant is wont need non drivers to do parcels on a saturday im a non driver shoulda been clearer.

I hardly think the company gives a damn about pissing off the workforce.

There's a swathe of middle-seniority OPGs who were locked into driving when P&L was introduced because they had previously been using private cars on delivery. They've been paying for that little bit of convenience ever since.
The machine stops.

If Saturdays become parcels only then it's either that or they make everyone drive

Honestly dont know why anyone would want to drive for this company every work time learnings the same every other day in ours, drivers being threatened with conduct for not doing van checks or speeding or some other misdemeanor much better being non driver no hassle or responsibility only bigger loops which isn't to bad.

It's in the contract ie after 2010 everyone needs a driving licence.

Given staff shortage in many DOs is there any guarantee that they won't just ship you off to another DO?
