Surely if you’re going to leave soon you would take the money and run?

This miss-belief about a yes vote being the secure option is laughable. The record already shows that these people are not fit to run the company, have stripped it of cash and brought it to its knees. It is the deludedness of going back to an abusive boyfriend, thinking this time it will be different. It is easier to tell ourselves that story than to believe in our own worth.
Its not a secure option its just the most sensible the abusive boyfriend or girlfriend will still be there either way.

I get that but any pride of satisfaction went from job years ago for me now it’s all about been paid. When I first started I was proud to work for a wear the Royal Mail uniform now it’s just another run of the mill job with okish pay.

The whole context of this ballot is wrong in my opinion.

Everyone on here will surely join me in condemning bullying, in fact on most threads during the dispute this subject rears its head time and time again. Whether it be bullying from the Senior Management, Area Management or Coms. Some people say that they observe or suffer bullying on a daily basis in their office.

Yet as a workforce we are being bullied over this agreement and ballot by not only Royal Mail but the CWU.

In my opinion and the way I'm seeing it we are being told " Yes this agreement is s**t and your working life will be intolerable because of it however if you vote No then your working life will be extremely intolerable".

Jeez what a choice we've been given, in fact it beggars belief that this has come about.

Now this is only my opinion and how I see it but looking at the many comments on here and hearing colleagues in my office those voting Yes are mainly doing so because they fear how bad things will get and what RM will do if it's a No vote.

That to me reeks of people being bullied into voting one way - vote the way we want or pay the consequences!!!¡

Personally if the membership vote yes we have lost ,Royal Mail will know we are weak and in the next few years they will steam roller through whatever they like with little or no response from the CWU,next week is our d-day,all i know is i wont be staying around to be finished off next year, its all down to the membership now ,good luck and hope to see you on the other side some day soon.
Surely if you’re going to leave soon you would take the money and run?

The job has changed as has society in general we aren’t the essential service we once was we are now just a company in the private sector who wants to make as much money as possible.

Unions are weaker generally these days and the only unions who have strength are ones who represent the public sector. Then again that’s not entirely true when you look at the rail and teachers disputes. Sadly unions aren’t the force they used to be.
I'd rather stay and fight, that's just the way my grandfather and father brought me up ,never let anyone treat you like your worthless, sadly this is one fight i cant win on my own but as i said if the members decide they want to be worthless there is nothing i can do so yes then i will take my money and go.

Thinking voting no to an agreement drawn up by both sides after the bitterest industrial dispute in RM’s history, is more secure a choice, is beyond laughable.

Why would voting yes make you worthless?

What exactly are you fighting for?

These changes are happening or have happened already. Look at ex public companies like BA and BT huge change happened there too. Sadly you can’t fight change.

You are entitled to your opinion, and so is everybody else too.
But for the Love of God, I can't see how a fair pay rise and a significant lump sum for all postal workers (with job security enshrined in the deal ), mutually agreed by our union the CWU and Royal Mail, can in any shape or form be described as bullying.

If the union believes the consequences of a no vote are real what do you want them to do, lie and pretend that everything will be warm and fuzzy after a rejection?

The union has a responsibility not to sugar coat the position we are in so that members can vote with as much genuine information as possible. It comes down to whether you choose to believe that the picture they paint is genuine or not but I've seen nothing in the last 12 months to support the theory that Royal Mail will not increase its attack on our terms and conditions after a no vote.

I would say Royal Mail are staying unusually silent during this vote, I've seen in the past a far heavier push of the unpalatable alternative to an acceptance during a ballot.

At the end of the day an acceptance of the reality of the situation is not the same as fear. It's just a bit of logical reasoning that you would prefer one situation over another.

Are those proposing to vote no doing so out of fear? Fear of the consequences of a yes vote? Are the people on here and Facebook bullying members with scare stories about how this agreement will lead to the destruction of our terms and conditions?

I don't think either side is bullying anyone, I think they're just trying to get members to understand that there are obviously consequences that we will face after this agreement is either accepted or rejected and unlike what some members seem to think it isn't just about voting for what's in front of you but actually more about dealing with the aftermath.

Looking at the bigger picture, and whats the alternative, its a binding agreement and we are back in the room. All the rocks that this unions ship shall founder on.
If all you people believe there will be no consequence to the outcome of this vote no matter what way the vote goes you are in for a surprise.
The delusion and blind faith of some people beggars belief.
Having a holier than thou and arrogant attitude doesn't make you right, history is littered with these people, all failures to a man.
So keep spouting your views as if they are gospel.
I will continue to try to be balanced and see it how i see it, i won't go having little digs because you have a different view, and if you continue to only give one view i will give the other.
Balance is the only way to give people a chance to make a informed decision.

im fighting to keep sick pay ,ihr and the ability to be paid for the hours i work at least within the same month and hopefully one day an end to the endless bullying and harassment, being in a physically demanding job and to not be paid the first 3 days of sick by a company who spaffed millions on shareholders and the ability to spit you out after giving your body up for the company for years in my opinion makes me feel worthless as do the endless jibes everyday how your not good enough. When the counselling and conduct come in for pda actuals on a yes vote it will get a 100 times worse and it will happen ,as i said before vote yes you've lost ,but i do understand everyone has their own levels of tolorence and worthlessness ,i just have high standards.

Balance doesn’t apply to every aspect of life. You wouldn’t go up to a scientist who has proven a theory using empirical evidence and try and justify an alternative based on keeping things ‘balanced’. Sometimes there is just right and wrong.

Everyone that I've spoken to has agreed it's a sh*te deal.

From a 97% mandate for strike action at the beginning of the year to not even announcing any strike dates within 6 months. It's strange to think that our picket lines were rock solid and very few went in during our 18 day strikes. That anger intensified when the company then brought in un-agreed revisions that ramped up our duties and deliberately failed the USO which led to many offices filing rule 13. But any local strike action has been stalled....for another ground breaking agreement which can only be described as a sell-out on a national scale. It's obvious that Royal Mail are not going to abide by any agreements as we have seen with their actions over closing the CSP's.

So when does a sh*te deal ever become a good one? The company have thrown away our profits at shareholders and then hinted at bankruptcy and administration to a Union that is completely clueless whether it should go sh*t or go shave. At times, the CWU leadership who are pushing this agreement sound more like Royal Mail senior management with every video they post. Personally, I don't care how people vote, but everything (and I mean everything) is being driven by greed and money. And if you have a Union that doesn't stand up for us, then that is something that really needs to change.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
