National rep/com call today

Post by Clairedarep »

8am this morning all reps/coms will be in a call with grant macpherson and Dave ward, apparently they are going to tell us how to repair the damage that’s been done to every delivery office in the land!! We will see about that :cuppa

Our reps just got off the zoom call, say it's a crap deal and aren't going to bother trying to sell it.

This is a marriage of convenience for both parties. They will hard sell this deal . If it's a Yes , Ward & Macpherson will be smoking cigars and dancing the Tango knowing the members have been duped on the cheap. Also knowing that there will be nothing to fight for in the near future when they tear agreements up and impose more change while the union nods in the background like a Churchill dog.

If it’s a yes I’m out
No point in paying into a union that only lines it’s own pockets while negotiating away previous hard fought t&cs

As a rep myself, I am under no circumstances going to be selling this deal to my members, they have paid enough with all the wages they have lost on strike. I have provided them with all the info I have about the deal and told them to make their own decision, they have earned that right and I have nothing but admiration for all their sacrifices and I’m proud to be their rep, I do the rep job to make their day at work a little better if possible, this deal is not for everyone, so it’s not fair to try and coerce them into voting either way. Ward made me laugh when he said the members need to make an informed decision but vote yes :arrrghhh
