Too true. We have 1 young guy in our office, super fit and gets done about 1hr earlier on every walk than anybody else. Always gets the water taken out of him as they ask if he runs round, if he has 3ft legs etc etc. But him rushing round has caused his knees to go and is now off sick. When he gets back he will be in for a ripping.

I know how you feel. My last long weekend had the Saturday covered on O/T by a couple of idiots who raced around after a manager had thrown in for them. Monday was the bank holiday, so on Tuesday, I bundled up the dead letters, missorts and the redirections and gave them to the manager with a note saying 'Nothing to do with me'.

Most of the Banter has been stopped in our office due to political correctness and Dignity and respect.
Certain people you can say things to and they will take it in the jest it is meant but certain other people hear it and report you even if it was not said to them.

You have to be really carefull what you say now and check who is around before you say it otherwise you will have a grievance in againt you.

I remember a couple of good pals when I was in the forces one was from the Caribbean and his last name was White, now the nickname for anybody in the Forces who has a last name of White is "Chalky". His best mate, a Liverpudlian, had a last name of Black so was called Blackie.

Did half cause some stares when we were on the lash and shouting Chalky and Blackie. Those 2 loved it though and used to milk it for all it was worth.

One of our guys was always getting jibes about his love of sci-fi movies.
When he narrowly survived an RTU, my mate Stan came in next morning and shouted 'managed to Klingon to your job then, son ?' :Very Happy

The best one by far was when the sci-fi guy had the hots for one of the new females in the office. They went out for a couple of months, but she tried to cool things down a bit, cause she thought spending so much time together at work and outside work was getting a bit much. Somebody noticed that he wasn't so affectionate towards her, and asked what was up.

He got a bit defensive and said 'She just wants me to give her a little space, that's all'

'Whatcha gonna do then' says me mate ... 'Buy her a Star Trek video ?' :dance

It was a hot summers day and careless whisper was on the radio, one of the guys who had transferred from Sheffield to Cambridge said "It's wam (warm) isn't it" to which someone came strait back with " No i think it's George Michael actually"

I've settled in at Sevenoaks, to the degree that if I pass one girl in my aisle, as she is bent down, say getting her pouch from under her desk or is throwing letters into the lower tier of her frame, she sticks her bum out & if I happen to be passing, say after clearing down or taking my bags to the scales, I'll say "Stop sticking your arse out like that, or I'll have to smack it!"

This has gone on a couple of times a week, for a few months, only today ( having already done this to the lady concerned ), I was sorting out my re-di's, when she called my name, being stood next to me, I turned to face her, she turned her back to me, dropped her strides and proceeded to slap both cheeks of her arse, while chanting 118 118 to the A Team theme tune ( it's an office nick name I acquired ), and I stood there totally gob-smacked, before I just started laughing :dance  :dance  :dance
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

banter

Post by vigilante »

I'm afraid the banter in my office is too xxx to be repeated.
but there has also been birthday bashings.(get beaten on your birthday)
childish sticking bits of paper with lude messages on backs of people----like----'strike i'm on it everyday'---etc.
bench banging(banging the lids on your benches)managers love that one.
when a song we like comes on someone turns it up to full pelt(lifts the roof off)

Yeah, we used to lark about with those different coloured cage-card stickers, but one bloke used to do it incessantly. He's the office wind-up merchant, yet he hates it when he's on the receiving end. One Friday, one of the blokes got tired of peeling stickers off his clothes and f*cked off to the loo (or so we thought) for ages. Anyhow no-one thought anything about it and the rest of the shift passed without incident. But the practical joker, who always used to reverse his Mini into a car-parking space so he could drive straight out, was first out the door as per usual and as he pulled away, the rest of us were p!ssing ourselves laughing. The bloke who'd been gone for 25 minutes earlier on had stickered the back of the Mini with six different colours of sticker, arranged in such a way as to make the car look like something only Mr Blobby would drive :Very Happy

Our mate was spitting bullets on his return, complaining about how he'd spend hours getting the damn things off over the weekend ! He didn't talk to the other guy for about three weeks afterwards
