IT'S TIME THE UNION PUBLISHES ALL THEIR SALARIES , EXPENSES & PENSIONS

Post by steve2zaf »

This union had NO money for strike funds . Not even a food voucher to help struggling posties over xmas. They didn't even suspend the subs during these hard times . WHY ???

It's time they publish every salary , all expenses in detail . All pension payments into their fat pot that we are funding.
I want know how they travel - first class , second class , economy or chauffer driven that we pay for.
I want to know what hotels they stay in - how much per night that we pay for.
I want to know what they have eaten and where that we are paying for.
I want to know their huge bar bar bills that we pay for.
I want know how many jacuzzi's , tv's , ipads , ipods & all other tech we pay for.
I want to know how many duck ponds , toilet rolls , slippers , suits , haircuts , toiletries that we pay for.

I could keep going but I am sure you get my gist .
We deserve to know everything as their paymasters.

This is not a commons select committee yes they should be transparent about wages/salaries/contractual pay. I don't think dave having big mac or andy having fish and chips will help the democratic process in our union!

In the statement to members for the period ended 31 December 2021

The total income for the union = £42,633,767
including members subs = £27,985,862
and total expenditure = £25,629,800

In respect of the Unions political fund, total income £1,474,995 and total expenditure £1,123,614

Salaries
Dave Ward, General Secretary received £144,635 in the year ending December 2022
Andy Furey, Assistant Secretary in the region of £100k upwards?
Head of Communications of Chris Webb's annual salary £60,000-£70,000
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Thanks for the salary update .
What I am really interested is in their expense accounts. As what happened with the politicians a few years back - many claimed expenses more than 3 X their salary.
I have no doubt we will never find out because it could halt the unlimited gravy train that they are on.

Yeah. I agree. Get the police in. Get some agency staff to replace all union staff. £12 an hour should cover it.

Comments on this site are getting more bizarre by the hour.

How is it bizarre, ppl have a right to know, and I would like to see full transparency, the seemingly spend every single penny every single year and have never even contemplated setting up a rain day fund for say strikes, despite there not being one for 13 years!

Kind of amusing to have a thread about what the CWU hierarchy are paid, when it is the scandalous siphoning of the profits we made during the pandemic, by the leeches at the top of Royal Mail, that has put us all in this position. But sure, keep whining about what Dave Ward makes a year.

Well, they're certainly going to have to make cuts, what with people retiring, people just coming out of the union through disgust, they are going to be down quite a few thousand quid.

Hiking the fees up for the fewer numbers of members they will have remaining, in an effort to make up the shortfall, just might be the final nail in their coffin.

The CWU publish accounts every year. Write to the CWU and get a copy of the annual certified accounts. Then ask detailed questions. Or get yourself elected to a senior position in the union and you can then make the policy. People on here are just criticising without any alternative plan. To say that there is a conspiracy theory or some kind of fraud is totally ludicrous.

The people on here who moan and criticise have the power in their own hands. Union officials are elected. Who votes for them? The members. It's a simple case of put up or shut up. If people want individuals changed, a strike fund started, published detailed accounts, records of what union officials do etc etc - then do something about it. Criticising on here won't achieve anything.

The only factual quote is that the cost of Dave Wards wages , pension cost and national insurance contributions add up to that amount. These are required by the law to be published.

It is like saying that a postie basic pay is inclusive of the employer national insurance contributions and pension contributions.

The claims about Chris Webb and Andy Furey are not true.
