Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
The attachment which shows your start and finish times only move your finish time by 60 minutes in the first column and by 90 minutes in the second.
It is based on your units main duty pattern under DDS so if you have 30 walks at 20 of them start at 7 now it will show up to 60 minutes and 90 minutes on this duty pattern based on a Wednesday.
So no duty moves by 2 hours.

We are about an hour away from the mail centre. The thing is the last van gets to the centre then needs sorting, then has to go to a distribution hub to go on lorry’s for the final run. They originally said 9.15 start and I believe it will be nearer that if this gets voted in and the next ‘deal’ comes about.

Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
The USO will move to 16.30 but the vast majority 93% will finish before 16.00 with 64% before 15.30.
I think people are getting confused with the reference to up to 16.30 , it does not mean your unit will finish at 16.30.
In the same way as the current last letter USO is 15.30 and most units do not finish currently at 15.30.
The up to 60 minute move is what the joint working parties will be aiming to reduce and for a smaller number the default will be a move to a maximum of 90 minutes later.

Surely in layman’s terms if my local Mail centre is moving back by 2 hours then my DO will have to move back by 2 hours.

The flexi time will be taken up by travelling back to the office in rush hour, these fools truly do not know how to run a company ,or it is their plan within 2 years everyone will be working outside of rush hours and be 11am to 7am, i'd go for the later if its a yes vote get out while you can, think they might struggle to fill vacancies.

Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
No it does not the agreement is specific up to 60 mins in the vast majority of cases and a maximum of 90 minutes for any which 60 minutes do not work.
Remember the Inverness and Exeter flights which are the furtherest do not come out until 2025.
Neverwasadoor you don’t start based on getting all your work. The national mail centre workplan and pad revisions will be based on maximising mail on the first wave. Then the plan will be can you reduce the impact by sending a delivery to pick up a portion of the remaining 5% of workload and then the final arrival will be reduced.
The aim is also why does a mail centre need 90 minutes to process 5% of the workload , can it be done quicker which will help reduce the impact on start times further.

Martin
On the point of the 30 minute flex, what is the point of reviewing it unless it’s to make it compulsory? It’s either voluntary or not, at the moment it is so why review?

Neverwasadoor there will not be a compulsory 30 minute flex. The 30 minute flex has been around since pay and mod in 2008. We are not going to agree a compulsion on 30 minutes.

Don't think you'll be waiting until March 2024 to finish @ half four, if it's yes vote, it will be implemented almost instantly, vote NO.

One more Martin and then I’ll stop
The 24 minute seasonal, we give them 24 mins but when it comes to us getting it back on three days it takes us below 7 hours, so we lose 10 minutes break. That’s not really getting 24 minutes of non work back. Surely not right?

Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
Two loops I have no problem with you voting no but please don’t mislead anyone as why would they implement it now as all the arrivals and planes would still be arriving at your delivery unit. So it makes no sense at all to do what you said. The only reason start and finishing times need to change is that they are serving notice on flights due to cost , reducing co2 and quality reasons. Voting no will bot change that as all big companies are demanding Royal Mail move to green alternatives such as coming off planes and bio diesel and electric where affordable.

And why not they have implemented everything else they want to bring in with little or no resistance from the CWU

Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
Forget the last letter times, that's the last letter out on the street, what's the actual time you walk out the office to go home? That could be nearly half five after driving back, pouching off etc & will you still be use 20 mins break at the end of shift? Surely it's not long before that's pulled
