Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
I’m confused by this document. My office is showing start times of 7.45 and finish times of 4.30pm. That’s 8 hours and 45 minutes a day, 43.45 a week. Are we going down to a 4 day week? Split shifts?
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
I'm also confused. I am still trying to wade my way through these changes to start and finish times that must have been written by a solicitor who is also a politician because nothing is as it seems.
As for your problem, it may be a simple mistake in the data entry because with a start time of 7.45 the finish time should be 3.09pm. That is on the basis than on a Wednesday in your office the dominant full time duty is 7.24.
On the other hand on a Wednesday in your office the dominant full time duty may be a four day week at 8.45, and 35hours taken as the new full time.

Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
I wonder if these start times for DOs factor in the lorries doing the runs to DOs from MCs getting caught up in traffic if final dispatch times end up being made later

Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
Last letter 4.30pm, Finish time 15mins later,
So finish time 4:45pm; Start time 9:21am
Longs and shorts 20 mins two days a week so
Finish time then 5:05pm
Seasonal variation is in addition to longs and shorts and after year one, will become 24 mins later finish:
Finish time now 5:29pm
'Flexi time review July 2023 results in compulsory 30 min added when requested'.
Finish time 'busy' season now 5:59pm
7:24 hour days becomes 8:38 hour days
Something to look forward to during those dark, wet, cold and miserable winter nights.

This list tells us nothing . Purely speculative nonsense . Expect people to vote in favour when these are just fictitious times. Union is desperate to sell this as a win . Shameful.

I don't get it, all this tells me is the same as we were told before, which was that times would be extended to up to 90 minutes. Have I missed something?

Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
Will they still want the specials done by 1? You’d waste up to an hour getting these done before first letter some days if they do. They might have to send a few out with these like they do with the 9am jobs.

Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
The DOs furthest from the MCs are probably going to always fail 9am specials once the new start times kick in. Assuming that the final dispatches to DOs are made later, the lorries are likely to get stuck in traffic somewherekazardaimenu wrote: ↑18 Jun 2023, 06:19Will they still want the specials done by 1? Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
I dont think those DOs would offer a 9am special. See: https://www.royalmail.com/sending/uk/sp ... anteed-9am and the Postcodes and exceptions section.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑18 Jun 2023, 07:25

They may just extend that list. (Christ, they give themselves three days for the outer hebrides)

Re: NEW START TIMES OFFICE BY OFFICE
The times are based on the inward mail centre getting their work up to 3 hours later due to now coming by rail and road. It also assumes that the mail centre needs 90 minutes to process 5% of mail which is the latest arrival and on stems times taking in the traffic element for example it gives Croydon Mail 90 minutes to get to Woolwich Delivery unit.
It also assumes that the outward final dispatch is still 22.00 when 72% of a mail centres outward DSA is in the mail centre before 18.00.
It is based on Wednesday traffic as well.
The agreement states both parties will try and ensure that start and finish times are capped at no more than 60 minutes later than at present.
The impact of coming off flights is not universal. For example the South Midlands Mail Centre catchment area there is not much change for example Coventry North will move 5 minutes later. The same for North Midlands mail centre as this is due to the being less reliant on flights.
Other Mail Centres the impact is up to an hour later.
The 90 minutes only kicks in if the joint working party cannot make the up to 60 minute work in that delivery unit.
