TRUST SURVEY

Trust survey coming around and management pushing us to fill it in. Correct me if I'm wrong but do management get a bonus if so many are filled in and returned.

I seem to remember its part of their balanced scorecard - so, not exactly a bonus for it, but it does go towards their bonus if its still the same as it was.

I vaguely remember, so I could be wrong, that at one time staff used to get some kind of small reward as an incentive to complete it. Managers were always very keen that we should. The last time I did one, when we had a work time learning review of results, they bore no relation to any answers anyone said they had given, so we wrote it off as a fix and a waste of time.

Royal Mail Trust Score have a gateway of 70% on a national basis for managerial bonuses.

Last year it was 68%-Simon decided that the luvs would get their bonus anyway...

we need trusted relationships everywhere - only when an average score of 70 across the country is achieved will the normal managers bonus become available to for everyone who is eligible - it is not a trust bonus, trust is how you get access to the bonus - and it is not about the performance of one site - it is about an average improved performance everywhere

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

there is the trust survey
that Mr Thompson spoke about, which is the 50,000 people who input into
how they feel about their manager. That score is increasing. Then the
board gets involved at two additional levels.

One is what’s called
“employee voice”, where the board goes directly to the workforce to
ascertain if there are any issues that are affecting the workforce, so that is
direct engagement from board to workforce.

Then the last one is a “speak
up” survey, which is common practice in companies. If people have an
anonymous complaint to make, or any complaint to make, they can make
it anonymously, without management involvement.

There are some examples of where I don’t approve of what has been shown, with the three examples of what has been shown, but I have to challenge firmly the generalisation of the culture that we are trying to create at Royal Mail. We are trying to create a supportive culture where postal workers get the support and help that they need. Particularly, we mention people who are elderly, and the different types of jobs that they are able to do later in their career, and people covered by the Equality Act as well. We are a very responsible employer when it comes to how we treat our people. In our most recent engagement survey of 50,000 colleagues, a key attribute is that “the line manager treats me fairly” has improved by seven points to 80%. It is one of the highest scores. So we don’t see that in our local relationships. We clearly have room for improvement, and we wholly accept that."....

Have some people got some things wrong? Clearly, they have. We have clearly addressed some of them, including me actually visiting one place."...
