You watch they'll put it out tomorrow just to make sorting last longer, bless their cotton socks.

I hate Fridays, it is bin day on my round. Used to get out before the bin men and was a breeze, now i spend a good bit of the time shifting the bins out of the way of the gates.

I have hated the damn bin men ever since a couple of xmas's ago when i saw full crates of beer on top the wheelies, and i got nack all - as usual. :Sick

Why do you still have a van with windows in the back? How can RM punish people for having mail in the front of their vans whenever they have vans with windows in the back :d'oh! :hmmmm

I'm on light duties at the moment, so today was my first day ever in the callers office. Talk about a steep learning curve. I'll tell you one thing, I'll be a lot more carefull how I fill in 739 cards when I get back on my walk after experiencing first hand how difficult it is trying to find items because a postie hasn't filled it in properly.
And I'll admit, I've been guilty of it too in the past. But not in the future.
And we had a complaint about a missing surcharge. We turned the office over, searching high and low for it. Finally found out when the postie concerned got back in that the missing item had been put out to him for re-delivery this morning.

k66yla maybe you would like to comment on this one  .Everyone should do a stint in the callers office, worst job in a D.O.imho and as workplace coach at my office i make a point of showing this to new entrants.Trouble is the worst offenders are the senior men at my place and they dont give a toss :whistle

I back it completely.

I work sometimes in the Callers Office at my DO. Since I started doing so I now make sure I complete the card and I go 1 stage further - I also put a brief description of the packet, letter on the Form Left as well. Such as Blue Box, Small White Jiffy etc. makes it easier to find it

Post by Stormproof »

Don't get me started on 739's not filled in properly :nervous :nervous
It was a terrible day in Callers, customers all had a moan about something, the amount of stuff we could'nt find was unbelievable but that was because they were all D/L yesterday and the postie decided to return them at 11.30 this morning :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Yep, a small description of the item (flat, magazine, jiffy bag, 5 foot box that weighs a ton) would obviously help. Also if the item is recorded delivery, it all helps. I always try to make it easier for the callers, it's a sh** job and he's the poor sod doing it. If only this was common practice.
