Consideration of Dismissal
Hi,
I have very recently been verbally told that I am on COD or Stage 3 and was previously verbally told I was on a Stage 2 but neither I have had a meeting about and or signed and agreed to.
I have left my recent sick absence at work but remember seeing that my Stage 1 had ended.
Thanks for reading.

If you're asking whether or not you should be on cod then you'll have to provide your absence details for the last 12 months for someone to be able to give advice.

The way things are going in this bastard of a company, dismissal might be the best thing to happen to you since joining.

Give your absence details then otherwise why post on here for advice if you will not give clarity on your absence.rhymesnme1 wrote: ↑27 May 2023, 19:58I am and, I am aware of that thank you.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑27 May 2023, 16:24If you're asking whether or not you should be on cod then you'll have to provide your absence details for the last 12 months for someone to be able to give advice.

If that's true make sure you contact the Union and request the Area Rep attend the meeting with you.rhymesnme1 wrote: ↑27 May 2023, 16:03Hi,

If they haven't followed the correct procedure, which seems likely, they should not be able to dismiss you.

Re: Consideration of Dismissal
Sadly I believe that Stage 1s and possibly Stage 2s as well get automatically issued, even though they shouldn't

Re: Consideration of Dismissal
Stage 1 are always given at our place, stage 2 is decided on its merits.
They're pushing their luck issuing stage 1 regardless of the circumstances, but stage 2 is where the proverbial line in the sand should be drawn. That is the gateway to stage 3, and in our area, I haven't heard of anyone who has survived stage 3 for years now.
This is where we will see how effective the CWU is.
If it's any good at all, it will put a stop to issuing automatic stage 2s, and work to putting a stop to Royal Mail's practise of issuing automatic stage 1s.

Re: Consideration of Dismissal
Ask yourself how any trade union can agree a policy with the disciplinary procedure that has sanctions attached with no right of appeal until the consideration for dismissal level?
