I must be in the minority here.
I think it's the right call.
RM have made some big promises to the markets the pressure is on them.

I'm with you. We need DW on as much national media as possible talking about the failure of the USO, etc.

Let’s be frank here the so called Markets want the CWU and it’s members crushed/gig economy at best.

I'm staunch vote no to this agreement. The delays are infuriating.theotherone wrote: ↑24 May 2023, 16:32I must be in the minority here.

However, I can see some logic from CWU top brass here. How could they put forward this agreement if they know it is already being broken every day. ( No surprise though, name one they haven't broken almost instantly)
But meanwhile wtf ... Dave Ward are you doing right now ? Each day on delivery is an onslaught !
It's one thing for you to talk about PTimers being made up to full if there are hours available. Hours are ripped out of offices left right and centre and you have allowed it for years.

This is a company that's addicted to understaffing in key areas and throwing money at stuff it doesn't need. (A bloated management structure, redundant superhubs, etc. etc.) All of that would exist without the union but it does need to be addressed.

Yes i think they have done the right thing, but have they done it for the right reasons or is it because the members were going to vote no.theotherone wrote: ↑24 May 2023, 16:32I must be in the minority here.

Maybe to cynical on my part but its convenient for them.
I have a little sneaking suspicion that RM dont want a agreement either and are just playing for time until they go nuclear, or try to go nuclear.
Feck them.

The problem is that he's not outwardly saying the company is deliberately failing the USO in favour of parcels and revisions are meant to designed to do that. Hell, no one in the common public is going to know what the "USO" means, they would if it's broken down in simple terms. Company can't exactly say it's slander when there's numerous evidence from both the select committee and numerous news articles across the country to show that this is the case. And general public aren't that f***ing stupid and can put two and two together, especially when they can clearly notice when they'll go a week without mail but get their parcels just fine.theargyspy wrote: ↑24 May 2023, 16:42theotherone wrote: ↑24 May 2023, 16:32I must be in the minority here.

How long is the CWU going to give RM to change it's attitude and behaviour? A week, two weeks, a month. six months ??? In whose opinion and how will it be decided that RMs behaviour has improved enough to allow the ballot to proceed? To me this has not been thought through. The CWU doesn't appear to have a plan B. If RM just continues as it is what is the plan of action?

It's pure comedy reading the posts on here. The usual suspects spouting s**t and the others having hissy fit's.

In terms of management politics, everything is probably up in the air until a new CEO is named. The big dogs are going to be pursuing their own agendas, and I suspect none of those involve making Ofcom, the CWU and a bunch of backbencher MPs happy.timbo1234 wrote: ↑24 May 2023, 17:37How long is the CWU going to give RM to change it's attitude and behaviour? Better to put into place an interim agreement until the new gal or guy is here. Otherwise, they have no capital invested in anything more permanent.
