Still a no vote for me ..but sadly I think people will grab the cash and regret it later .
I sincerely hope I'm wrong ,because this will open the gates to carnage of everything we have fought for over the years .
money on we have nothing left to fight for by 2025.
Shame on the cwu your a disgrace to call yourself a union .
If this goes through they're not my union .I'll save the £3odd subs for myself .

+1 it's that bollox flexing up in winter that will finish me off, and no the earlier finish in summer won't make it worthwhile, I know we'll work 24 minutes less per day but that's no consolation if having to flex 30 if required which will be most days unless the mail literally all but disappears.
Been told straight to our faces by area rep that the 30 min flex is staying optional like it’s always been and nothing to worry about, make of that what you will .
Yeah our area rep said it's still being discussed or something like that so another aspect of the agreement that isn't actually agreed, imo it's not nothing to worry about.
in delivery the 30 min flex will be used and abused by managers to have posties working another 30 mins outdoors , and it would also help them with there s**t show of the revisions :evil/mad

Yes that's exactly what I suspect, 30 minutes enforced every day as required and as per the agreement you get it averaged out in a 10 day period. Get f****d.

A ex-union rep once told me that once your terms and conditions are gone they will be gone forever. If I were planning to leave the business soon I would vote yes and take any potential decent lump sum on offer. The staff that are likely to lose out will be the ones who plan on staying with this company in the future. There is absolutely no question about that.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Where does 'optional' feature in the new agreement, I'll answer for you it doesn't, without looking it up for the exact terminology it says something like if required/if necessary.

I think you're referring to the last suggestion of 30 minutes flex on a weekly basis due to unforeseen circumstances that caused the mail to arrive late at the delivery office.

I think i will be very worried about it based on the unions willingness to bend over for royal mail and especially as being asked to vote yes but this is to be reviewed after its voted in yes very worried indeed don't trust them anymore than the people running the company

Closed or not, taking cash away from a pension fund never sounds like that great of an idea.

As mentioned earlier by woody!! It’s not from the pension fund!!
:arrrghhh

It's coming from an overfunding surplus in a closed defined benefit pension.
Closed defined benefit pensions are defined, you cannot add to their value.

The money doesn't belong to the pension, it belongs to Royal Mail

Do you know how often we have to fight about the term optional already .
It's also supposed to be reciprocal... It isn't.
