Re: Extra lump sump £ 1000
So almost a month's wage (3 weeks after tax) to seriously give the RM lizards the green light to take as many dumps in your face for the foreseeable future.
100% NO. Ward OUT. Strike YES.

Re: Extra lump sump £ 1000
Aside from social media, some offices like the one I work in have no union representatives, and have had little information since the start of the strike. Since the last strike day we have had zero information or direct communication from the union. When will we get any updates?

Re: Extra lump sump £ 1000
The cwu do understand that. But they also understand that their own survival is at stake here without a yes vote. If a no vote comes back RM will just crush the union out of the workplace and Dave knows it, that's why he sounds like he's on the board of directors of RM when he speaks now.worktotime wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 15:12they could offer £5000 and its still a NO from me , its not all about the money doesnt the cwu understand .

Re: Extra lump sump £ 1000
Been told straight to our faces by area rep that the 30 min flex is staying optional like it’s always been and nothing to worry about, make of that what you will .ted_e_bear wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 12:59Neebs wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 12:41Still a no vote for me ..but sadly I think people will grab the cash and regret it later .
I sincerely hope I'm wrong ,because this will open the gates to carnage of everything we have fought for over the years .
money on we have nothing left to fight for by 2025.
Shame on the cwu your a disgrace to call yourself a union .
If this goes through they're not my union .I'll save the £3odd subs for myself .+1 it's that bollox flexing up in winter that will finish me off, and no the earlier finish in summer won't make it worthwhile, I know we'll work 24 minutes less per day but that's no consolation if having to flex 30 if required which will be most days unless the mail literally all but disappears.

Yeah our area rep said it's still being discussed or something like that so another aspect of the agreement that isn't actually agreed, imo it's not nothing to worry about.chickenwittle wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 16:24Been told straight to our faces by area rep that the 30 min flex is staying optional like it’s always been and nothing to worry about, make of that what you will .ted_e_bear wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 12:59Neebs wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 12:41Still a no vote for me ..but sadly I think people will grab the cash and regret it later .

It's coming from an overfunding surplus in a closed defined benefit pension.
Closed defined benefit pensions are defined, you cannot add to their value.
How can you have a surplus in a closed fund
It should have been paid out
Stinks of corruption yet again
The money doesn't belong to the pension, it belongs to Royal Mail.
They could legally spend it on a piss up at HQ if they wanted.

We had a meeting with Martin Walsh on Friday. He made no mention of an extra grand on the table

Re: Extra lump sump £ 1000
How can you have a surplus of that amount of cash in a closed pension fund
Enlighten me
The guys in my office remain certain it should be in their pension plan
It’s a very early one
And how can that cash sit there without que or accountability
f***ing corrupted

Re: Extra lump sump £ 1000
We got told the money is a surplus from a closed pension plan and is due to be shared next year to members regardless and is absolutely nothing to do with the pay deal but the rumour mill has made that appear to be the case.

Because pension money is invested and those investments have performed well over a period of time.

Re: Extra lump sump £ 1000
Would I be right in thinking that RM would pay the £1000 alongside the £500 together if a yes vote is returned from the ballot and reimburse themselves at a later date when this policy matures?

I agree with you , especially when it clearly says in the agreement this will be reviewed in July , how does the CWU know the outcome already ?ted_e_bear wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 16:30Yeah our area rep said it's still being discussed or something like that so another aspect of the agreement that isn't actually agreed, imo it's not nothing to worry about.chickenwittle wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 16:24Been told straight to our faces by area rep that the 30 min flex is staying optional like it’s always been and nothing to worry about, make of that what you will .ted_e_bear wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 12:59Neebs wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 12:41Still a no vote for me ..but sadly I think people will grab the cash and regret it later .

Re: Extra lump sump £ 1000
Our rep says it’s just a rumour and has heard nothing official
Seeing how much the CWU want a yes vote you’d have thought they would be shouting this from the rooftops
