Need some help please

I put it on, but for some reason i dont always get it, as i see it though the hrs im contracted to work are the hrs i should be working, ok now and again going in early doesnt bother me, but i dont like being 'expected' to turn up. I know 2 other ppl on my sector who have the same start time and their frames are totally prepared all they need to do is sort the packets and do redirections and tie up, how is their mail always sorted and mine isnt, another guy is 830 start and his is totally prepared aswell, fair enough also if it was my regular walk and i knew it like the back of my hand, but i dont, ive been on it this week and ive just got to grips with it, but im still a bit slow throwing in because its a long and heavy walk, if i strolled in at 915 id be lucky to get out for after 12 with the d2ds.

I hope you are being paid for any extra hours.

If you're coming in early, put it down as OT, it has never been a problem in my office , we just add it on to the end of the day, missed breaks, everything, all get added on, and I've always been paid for. Try it, you'd be surprised, and I've worked in a few offices.

angrypostie please speak to the union rep of your office and join the CWU.Get the rep and Dom together and explain what is going on as its clear to me that you dont have enough time to do your duties.Every minute you work over your time claim Overtime,take your meal break and start at your right time,but get hold of the office rep ASAP.

Even better don't do overtime, the rates crap: it's non pensionable:it costs RM nothing in holiday entitlement, in short any overtime you do is cheap labour for RM

If i dont do the OT to get the main part of the walk prepped ill no doubt be kicked out faster than they bite my head off for the d2ds, i put it down sometimes, but once the manage came in and said ' oh more overtime is it' sarcastically when it was xmas and the walk they had me on had about 100 packets a day and i ended up finishing 9/10 after 4pm

But if you are a partime would this not suit their need to make a wage worth getting up for!. BUT YOU GET NOWT FOR COMEING IN EARLY FOR THAT IS A MUG'S GAME AND FULLTIME POSTIES DO THAT TO FOR THEY ARE FOOL'S TO THEMSELF'S AND US ALL!.

I get the impression they find me a hassle and useless because a couple of times theyve pulled me up for d2ds, and ive got them out, but this week has been a total nightmare, the walk is long heavy and as i said the majority of the mail im sorting myself, ive just had no time whatsoever to do them, not because i just cant be bothered, ive come in early ive not had breaks, what else can i do, i know their seeing it as i cant do my job but physically its impossible unless my walk is prepped, especially on a 915 contract.
Also i didnt state, this week its been postcode lotteries and some other form of 2nd class letters that the majority of the walk has recieved, so thats 2 lots of addressed 2nd class mail loads ive got out aswell as the mail

angrypostie is only Part time mate and could do with the money i would guess.Mabey its me but the rates not that bad and beggars cant be choosers.

Your manager is bullying you to work for free,you are being exploited ,your lack of experience and insecurity is being used. It happens all the time in RM you are not alone,
First join the union you need the protection
Second find out exactly what your duty involves;9.15 start-10.15 out there can not be a postie or walk in the country that can prep/be prepped tied up and bagged in 1hr and since D2D's are supposed to be absorbed into duty time and quite obviously you are not being paid to prep perhaps you should say that you are quite happy to absorb the delivery as long as they are prepped for you
