Â£400 flexibility.

We were told that we had missed teh deadline for the Â£400. When I asked if the 1.5% was also 'optional' I was told I was being negative - so that is not a no then.

They can keep their Â£256 (part time after tax)) the their Â£163 per year (1.5% part time after tax).

I am not being awkward but I don't want to mess my life up so that it revolves around work so that RM can save a few quid.
Fix the low payments from TNT and DHL and sort the business out so that is running smoothly, then if there are improvements to be made we can do it so that all are happy.

This could affect their contracts espeacially if they are full time, if you work 1 day free each week or 1 day free each year you would not be classed as working 40 hours ( full time hours) this could have an impact on your pension, you could be classed as a part time worker and you could see your pension reduced. Therefore, this does not make sense.

they were just starting to do the 'meetings' for thisi n my DO before i went on holiday this week

what i heard was the DOM was stating either agree and get Â£400 or dont and we will being it in anyway.
however ive not heard for sure what the 'deal' was.
one rumour i heard was 1 walk broken between 10.
however lets be honest,its the thin end of the wedge and more wil be expected in the next round of savings.

first of all let me clarify a few points
1 were not working for free all summer its only for one day and that is the flexi bit for all of the summer weeks
2 were not mad it might sound like we are but were not the way we look at it is were buying Â£400 payment for one days money Â£60
3 we had a vote and 68 were for this and only 2 were against
4 area rep wasnt too happy to sign the original agreement and has changed the wording and has now signed it
5 this might sound crap to some of you but its easier than absorbing rounds in the summer and messing all the floaters about and it just makes it easier all round
i realise we all think different and most might say were mad but this is what we are happy with and its what we are doing
all the other enablers for the payout we allready do the only thing we had to work out was the summer flexi bit

Thanks for that wakkono it sounds like you guys have got yourselfs a good deal there mate

So let me get this right you work 1 day for free,not 1 day a week just 1 day for the whole summer period which is what?12.16,20 weeks or what ever but just one day and youve binned Â£400

If thats the case then we should all have a serious look at this as it looks ok to me

Or have we missed something

tech we are working for free but we have it in writing that were not expected to do anything else at all throughout the summer providing we give em 1 day for free but like i said in prev post were getting Â£400 for that 1 day

That would be my concern - otherwise its a good idea imho - Â£400 before tax for 1 days work - I'll feel like a management consultant.

IIRC once your unit ticks all the boxes with a signed agreement. Or after 1 April whichever is latest.

is that for just this year or is it forever and what about any new starters will they be expected to work for nothing?

its on a rota system so the day you work doesnt clash with annual leave and its just for this year
have to wait and see what they throw at us next year

Just got an email with an attached area agreement that is signed and states "no outdoor work" as part of phase 2.

That seems ok, but what I don't like the look of is that the summer period has now been extended from weeks 11-21 to weeks 8-24.

Am I stupid, but this looks like we have handed over more savings for nothing and cut our members overtime opportunites over an additional 6 week period?

That Â£400 looks less and less by the minute. At an office level we are in our rights to reject this aren't we?
