There needs to be some win win proposals on the table, we mustn't vote for being the losers in every sense, that would be absolutely pathetic.
A rise and a lump sum are wins. How would you reverse the £700 million worth of losses posted this week without some change? You aren’t going to keep the job like it was in the good old days and secure a pay rise while we are leaking money. I think some people have their heads in the sand.
Below inflation pay rises are still real term wage cuts not wins
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

I wouldn't. Not my problem. I'm worried about my loses of sick pay, spending power, time in the afternoons, health working outside too long in the middle of winter, safety wandering round in the evenings in winter, future job prospects if new entrants keep coming on worse t&cs....

No £700 million players are going to care about my issues listed above but this is my vote and it will be about protecting me and my interests, that's it.

Edited to add. LOL at the little bits of money being wins. You're a real optimist and you don't get credit for it!

You are quite right , a rise and a lump sum are wins.
As for your second point about reversing the financial losses, how about giving customers the service they paid for I.e. a delivery every day , not some sporadic point in time. That way we will regain our reputation for Q of S and win back lost business.

the auto redeliverys are tipping me over the edge. Writing a card out knowing im going to be there tomorrow writing yet another card for the same parcel. just absurd
You shouldn't put another P739 through on the second time. It now states this on the PDA. The customer already has the red slip that you posted the first time round.

A job is a job, and we should vote yes to keep our jobs, take the very generous lump sum on offer, and play the smart game. If some postal workers are not happy with the job anymore, then they should consider leaving and looking for a job that is more suited to them.

But talk of walkouts, work to rules and overtime bans is not the path to go down at all.
As I said before, accept the CWU recommended agreement, regroup, hope the next Royal Mail CEO is more conciliatory and flexible, and work together with the CWU to keep on improving conditions and pensions.
The threat of compulsory redundancies falls on deaf ears because most offices are already short staffed. However, fire and rehire (or fire and replace) is actually legal in this country although the company have to be very careful over claims of unfair dismissal. Have to say I'm very surprised about the union backing down on those workers who have been unfairly suspended/sacked.

There's been reports of staff being sacked for talking to someone who's crossed the picket line or being given a warning to someone who's not prioritised the parcels over the mail which we have a USO on. That sort of thing is likely to happen if you play the "smart game" in future.

So as for improving conditions I believe it would be a start if the company were to redress some of these imposed revisions first.

"They" didn't pay for a delivery every day. Neither 1c or 2c are guaranteed products. The USO requirement for a six day delivery is not the same as next day for 1c.

We've seen loads of changes on deliveries in the last few years with bigger deliveries, the explosion of parcels, collections and deliberately failing the USO on a daily basis. We haven't had any strikes since Xmas eve last year so how on earth are we still making losses??

The only guys that have got their head in the sand are those who believe that the financial situation of the company is NOT being deliberately manipulated. Anyone who remembers when Leighton and Crozier were in charge did a very similar thing. They said we were losing a million quid a day and after the changes made £400 million profit the year after.

I'm not against change and I don't have all the answers. I just don't believe that this deal is the best one for those who want a future with RM.

It will say so when they check their status of their parcel online.

You put a card through on the first attempt to say that you will redeliver next day UNLESS they want to change the delivery day - in which case when you scan the item again the following day it will tell you to leave the item aside.

If it doesn't then you take it out with you on delivery again and if they are not in scan it as undelivered. You don't put another card through because you only redeliver it once.

Yes you do to prove you have actually been the second time ,
Also many older people are not online and are unable to check that way .

They have already got the original card that you have posted that states that you redeliver on that day.

You wouldn't need to post another card otherwise because you only redeliver the item once.. Must create a bit of confusion if you leave it a safe place or with a neighbour the 2nd time though!!

The message is now shown on the PDA. I don't make the rules

You are wrong Pete

You put a second card through ticking the box to arrange redelivery rather than 'we will redeliver next working day'
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
