About time his reign as the organ grinder ended more like!

People agreeing need to get a grip this won't mean Monday to Friday jobs just loads more people getting pushed out of the business!

Then more crap for all of us that are still left 🤬
Could not agree more, the idiot behind all that is occurring.

Monday is dead when it comes to letters though, so you could merge Saturday and Monday traffic easy enough.

Keith Williams in the Telegraph says end Saturday deliveries for Royal Mail to survive i agree would love to work mon- friday dont think there would be compulsory redundancies 20,000 would love vr they would get enough volunteers
It will never happen you will work a 7 day week on rotation and saturday and sunday will be packet days no need to take on staff they will utilise us lot people are dreaming if they ever think it will be monday to friday.

Been a few comments like this in here. Shows you guys actually have day-off cover.

Every week for 2 years our office has had no day-off cover. Not only does this mean that every week there is 1 day where we have double mail, we also might get moved at some point during the week to cover 2 day's mail on another round, then back to our own round the next day to clear 2 day's mail again.

I'd think for most of us it would still be a 6 day week as Sundays aren't compulsory for now, although there may be more Saturdays off as nowhere near the amount of staff would be required if it's only parcel delivery.

That's just stupid management and makes no sense at all

You’re right. Will current staffing levels they would need everybody in just to deliver all the tracked.

How can that work unless they forced all delivery staff to be able to drive? All the Saturday and Sunday duties would likely all require vans

It’s virtually impossible to catch up on 2 days work here even if it is a Monday, unless you want 1.30 overtime. Then you got another days of householders to put in during the week so you’d be out later.

If it's said that they will be back in profit next year, then I can't see the government agreeing to cut the USO to 5 days. Can not see compulsory redundancies either, as too many people want to leave, which does not say a lot about the work environment that we now have.

Re VR
Area rep in unit on my day off
Talking about the ballot etc.
A colleague told me that he said VR was back on the table. He didn't have a chance to elaborate, and now on leave.
I will ask a rep regarding this.

In the meantime, has anyone else heard this?

Perhaps a bit off topic, apologies.
