Praise for postie who tracked down paramedic

PARAMEDIC James Pirie of Lochinver is full of praise for the postal service in North-West Sutherland.

James has worked as a relief paramedic for the Scottish Ambulance Service for the past 13 years and, as he can be sent anywhere in Scotland, is often away from home.

He recently covered a weekend shift at Kinlochbervie during which he was called out to give emergency care to a seriously ill patient who was eventually airlifted to hospital in Inverness.

James thought no more about the incident until a week later when he was once again back in Kinlochbervie and was handed a letter at the hotel in which he was staying.

The address on the envelope simply read: James (Paramedic), Kinlochbervie, Sutherland.

"It was a thank you note from the patient I was involved with the previous week and who, unusually, had decided to thank those involved," said James.

"I say unusually, because a great deal more people will write to complain than to praise.

"As the patient had no way of knowing my second name or where I could be found, I suppose he just took a shot in the dark, and it paid off."

James was amazed the letter reached him so quickly and says the postie who tracked him down deserves a public pat on the back.

"I feel it's a testament to the importance of the Post Office in rural areas that a letter so poorly addressed could possibly arrive so efficiently and quickly in the right hands," he said.

Nice to see some good news for a change in this part of the Board. :Applause
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
