There’s only one reason Royal Mail would add more to the lump sum after it’s already been agreed, they know this deal is great for them and abysmal for us and want that yes vote to cross the finish line. Dave Ward and the union know this too but are counting on us seeing £1000(before tax) dangling in front of us and being thick enough to accept it.
Good negotiated settlements include good basic pay rise percentages and good terms to the deal not one off bungs. They can get f**ked.
Correct
They always go against lump sum bribes and support pensionable pay increases
What’s different this time CWU ?????

Staying in the workplace for them, and facility/release time.

Before you sell your soul for £1500 (if it even is that). It's roughly 3 weeks wages after tax.

Nobody ever plans on getting ill. If heaven forbid one day you get cancer, these sh***s will have you out of the company before you can say 'lapse'. The terms of the contract are absolutely atrocious, and for a grand they can stick this deal as far up their arses as possible for me.

Morally wrong to strip the excess from a pension fund to bribe the staff who may have never contributed to it.

Surely if there's excess, it should be divided to the people who contributed to it.

Sounds of desperation.

Another point is that companies that had left the business, have definitely returned, hence the uptick in packets, RM know this and would not want to lose this business again, I think more money is definitely coming into the business , better balance sheets, on the horizon for the shareholders. I already think the company see this happening, If all is settled I think it won't be long until RM are back in profit,at our expense.........

The Communication Workers Union

"Early next week we will be releasing a document so every delivery unit will know their proposed finish times under the terms of the agreement. These will also be worst case scenarios that the CWU believe can be improved.
This will mean you will have an idea (worst case) prior to any vote - as we have committed to."

Absolute Joke ! worst case scenarios , an IDEA ? so basically accept this crap deal and RM can do what they want to delivery times as the union is now spineless !

He took a one-way "swim" from his Yacht and after his death, huge discrepancies in his companies' finances were revealed, including his fraudulent misappropriation of the Mirror Group pension fund.

If its a £1,500 lump sum we should jump at it. Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

It’s an untouched surplus from the pre 2008 pension, that’s just been sat in an account for many years apparently. I wonder if anybody can confirm this.
