The source of the potential extra lump sum and the CDC pension. ..

Post by Woody Guthrie »

Apparently it's from an escrow account which is actually a surplus from the old pension plan.

To be fair as long as the pension is fully funded any surplus belongs to the company and is their's to do what they want with but still....

Dave Ward also admitted today that he fears the business is about to pull out of the CDC citing costs and some of this surplus could also be used to try to keep it on track..

To me it stinks of desperation to get the deal voted in, yes I'd love to get a big bung but more importantly as far as I and I'd assume many others are concerned when it gets to winter and the extra two hours plus enforced 30 mins flexing part of the deal kicks in it'll push us too far, I'm knackered now when I've finished never mind nearly another hour per day in our busiest period.

Even a 10k lump wouldnt matter for this s**t show deal and what they are doing to your terms and conditions

Unless you were taking it and getting out the door in under a year.

Great, so just over £500 for me then on my p/t contract, after deductions. Worth it, NOT. :left:

And don't forget approximately £182.50 of that money goes back to the union in your fees.

There’s only one reason Royal Mail would add more to the lump sum after it’s already been agreed, they know this deal is great for them and abysmal for us and want that yes vote to cross the finish line. Dave Ward and the union know this too but are counting on us seeing £1000(before tax) dangling in front of us and being thick enough to accept it.
Good negotiated settlements include good basic pay rise percentages and good terms to the deal not one off bungs. They can get f**ked.
