Not to you or me. But it's piss poor for a CEO.
It reflects his total incompetence. He should get nothing, or our basic wage, as we know we can live on that, for the work we do.

It is incredible how much these jokers get but it's also incredible that we have lost near 1800 while collectively paying our chief negotiator over 100000 a year for a deal such as this. We know the value of money and this certainly isn't it. 50000 and I might be a bit more sympathetic.

It does.
But in their real world how can he pimp up his CV.
Failure, failure, oh, yes failure.
He's hanging on for money and we all know there isn't any to be had.
Losing a million a day.

But he will mop up some more gravy from the pot.

Vote No.

LTB 119/23 - RESIGNATION OF ROYAL MAIL GROUP CEO SIMON THOMPSON
No: 119/23

12th May 2023

TO: ALL POSTAL BRANCHES
Dear Colleague

RESIGNATION OF ROYAL MAIL GROUP CEO SIMON THOMPSON

You would have heard the announcement earlier today that Royal Mail Group CEO Simon Thompson has resigned from his position. The CWU welcomes this development as will our members and representatives.

Simon Thompson is one of the key individuals responsible for the financial crisis that Royal Mail Group has created over the course of the last year.

The CEO was also one of the key people responsible for the appalling mantra of ‘It’s our business to run’ that saw the employer openly attack its own workforce on a relentless basis, including developing a culture of imposition which has now created quality of service and USO failures on a scale which threatens the future of the company.

However, we recognise that the CEO was only one of the senior leadership team responsible for the unacceptable actions and behaviours of managers across the UK throughout this dispute. Further change in Royal Mail Group’s leadership team is vital.

:funneh
It is important that the next Royal Mail Group CEO is somebody who understands the only way to turn around the fortunes of the company is by taking the workforce with them.

Yours sincerely

Even if we reject this whole deal and ask for a better one where is the money coming from? Some say they have a £1.7billion strike fund I could believe that too crush the union and make super hubs. They would borrow that kind of money but times have changed ie the cost of borrowing has gone up for all business as well. And do you all really think the give a stuff about us all to invest in us and pay our wages. Investment has dried up we now have a s**t business with a half baked cake with a super hub or two and no plan. All pie in the sky because of one mans blind vision of our future and he is shuffling deck chairs on the titanic!

Just being honest here we all have to think about this as we vote but it is food for thought some may have a better solution than I.

Has any postman handed in their resignation and received a pay out for doing so ?
Why do people in upper management receive one ? And why are they paid so much in the f***ing first place.
