Start times need to change fact, sick pay been abused fact, pay deal and lump sum is crap I get that but at the end of the day Royal Mail needs to change fact, odds on ballot 4/9 yes 7/4 no
Has anyone, CWU or RM, looked at or mentioned why the sick leave bill is running at £200m? What year was this in 2018/19/21/22 ? Is it still high? What are the causes of the staff being off sick? Is it staff trying to pull a fast one OR arthritis due to back/knees/hips OR Stress from Management OR RTA in RM vehicles OR bitten by dogs and the list goes on....
I came back to work mid-march, having been off for 3 months due to Osteoarthritis in my knee, this is my 3rd time been off with the same illness/disability. Having spoken to a number of the guys in the office, 2 have new knees, 1 is waiting for a new knee, 6 having bad knees, 2 have bad shoulders, 1 waiting for a new hip, numerous with bad backs, a couple are off with stress, this is from an office with about 70 staff.
Absolutely pathetic, it’s all beyond a joke. They’re not going to be able to reverse revisions, they’ll laugh at them.
if they put the lapsing back to what it was with sufficient staff, all the extra stuff like scanning tracked and autoredelivery might be doable. They went way beyond the line of reality
What the same parcels we deliver now? Nobody fell for that crap about customers wanting to be able to order a toaster at midnight and wanting it the following day ? Yes I know Amazon can do that but we dont sell toasters so people would go to Amazon if they really must have toast the following day. I realise it might not have been a toaster that was mentioned, but you get the idea
If I remember correctly it was during the strikes period some company that makes biscuits said they wanted to be able to despatch late night orders for next day delivery.
I've said a few times now that as per usual RM are trying to cure another of their own goal f**k ups this particular one being the lat system of paying a flat 4 hours or whatever for someone to deliver the lat parcels after their own duty, most posties I know that do lats are the office runners who's only goal is to finish early to get their lats done mostly on ghost.
What about introducing a type of hybrid duty doing for example half a walk followed by lat parcels which I'd imagine would be attractive to some who are struggling with a full duty.
Oh aye I recall something about a biscuit company, I like a biscuit,
Another underhanded tactic by the shameless CWU. They have annoyed the majority with their severe lack of communication with no live debate since this horrific deal was announced. They are becoming more despicable by the day.
CWU to Royal Mail ,"be nice to them for a couple of weeks they will vote how we tell them 'YES' and then you can do what you like and we will play good cop bad cop again."

Colleagues don't get it. The public don't get it.
The perception is that postmen are fit as a butcher's dog. Add to that the recent 10,000 steps nonsense leading to people believing the more steps you do the healthier you will be.
Common sense dictates not so!
In fact the optimum amount to walk for good health is 1 hour a day. Waling four hours per day is detrimental to your health - 100 marathons a year etc.
But was as posties know all that. That is why we are paid a good premium over minimum wage. That is why our sick pay and IHR is more generous than most. Right?
Except .... every year that goes by our pay is closer to min wage. And now the attack on Sick pay and IHR.

Royal Mail don't give a s**t if it's a no vote. They don't give a s**t if the CWU are forced by the vote to announce more strike dates. R.M will just wither away and blame it's demise on CWU members. The Tory media will take great delight in blaming 'militant' union members. Then on the other hand if it's a yes vote R.M still don't give a s**t. They're still ramming through change/revisions. And while they're waiting for the ballot results, they're laughing their tits off at their workforce who are tearing the CWU to pieces from the inside.

I agree everyone's shouting how bad the union have been which is probably correct but the laws are clearly designed to aid privatization its been tried and tested for decades, the question has been asked already on here but what is striking going to achieve.
This union is an embarrassment. Two of the comments have said they'll be voting no only for the union to then respond and I s**t you not "then what?" It's a disgrace, whoever is in charge of their social media should be sacked. Sounds like a complete child with their responses in this dispute and this takes the cake. You can vote yes or no and give your reasons to do so, but to dismiss it so easily? Nah, just not on. This union has no intention of striking in the near future. I don't even want to believe they've done all this so they can secure their own jobs and damn the workers, but this is starting to look like it. They have completely washed their hands with this dispute and don't have any plans whatsoever if it comes back a no.
