ROYAL MAIL GROUP: BUSINESS RECOVERY, TRANSFORMATION & GROWTH AGREEMENT - REVISED BALLOT TIMETABLE
The Postal Executive met yesterday and received a report from the Officers in regard to recent talks with RMG management. As a consequence, a revised ballot timetable has been agreed. Primarily this decision was made due to the requirement to create the right environment for the ballot to be conducted. In essence, we have seen no material change in attitude from management since the Agreement was endorsed by the Postal Executive and rather than working with the Union, there is not enough evidence of them moving away from the “it’s our business to run” mantra. Crucial to this is the need for the company to restore the IR Framework on the ground.
Specifically, Paragraph 2.5 of the BRT&G Agreement contains the commitment to agree measures required to put revisions right. Q of S and USO failings continue to be issues of concern. In this regard we met with Grant McPherson, COO last week and we have agreed to urgently hold a Joint forum of RODs / GMs and Div Reps. This forum is fundamental to impress upon senior operational managers the imperative of restoring the IR Framework Agreement and addressing the legitimate concerns we have in regard to the operation and in particular, failed revisions.
The Postal Executive has therefore agreed the revised ballot timetable below to ensure the commitments to work together in the Agreement are in place prior to the ballot commencing.
Ballot papers despatched: Thursday 25th May
Ballot closes and result declared: Wednesday 14th June

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Ballot timetable
That's OK I've still got my bottle of Tippex from when I had to cancel all the Strike Dates in my Diary, for one reason or another!
Is it really because of the attitude of RM Management? Or perhaps there's not been enough time to convince the majority of Delivery Staff that it's a Good Deal?
I understand there's a couple of BIG Briefings going on for Reps, to explain the Deal ..... Again!

Re: Ballot timetable
It says it all about how bad this deal is that they need yet more time to sell it to the members .

Re: Ballot timetable
Members have literally been saying this for f***ing weeks and saying how the company won't abide by this agreement, only for union to patronise them and disregard their concerns. The bloody guy that was interviewing them mentioned it was still ongoing, and Dave and co were just blank staring at him . And now they are just realising this??? This company is well and truly f****d with incompetence on both sides! This is literally the Joint Statement all over again!

Re: Ballot timetable
So the reason the union have given to delay another week is because of RM intransigence and further railroding of impossible revisions, bullying, and ignoring of existing agreements?
Absolute genius.
Do they actually realise how utterly insane they sound??
You literally couldn't make it up.

Re: Ballot timetable
If this wasn't so serious it would be comedy gold.
This 'deal' or agreement full of trials is going to be out dated before the ballot papers get sent out.
Messers Ward and Fury. For heaven's sake wake up!

Re: Ballot timetable
Wow, unbelievable, I think most people have already decided how they want to vote and there appears to be very little appetite for more gate meetings or strike action for that matter either, people are so fed up with the whole nine yards of it …. Work chatter is consistently RM/CWU
I totally understand people’s anger with the vanilla turncoat union who promised so much, especially those who went to London to show their support but quite honestly is there really a workable viable alternative that can lay this thing to rest?
