So the alternative to accepting the deal is more strike action, which will achieve nothing, and a campaign to renationalise Royal Mail which has as much chance of success as the campaign to prevent privatisation was.

As for “the small print” everything they’ve listed is a headline aspect of the proposed deal.

We need realism on here not a pie in the sky renationalisation of Royal Mail but a conflict of interest we had that and now it is about how we work with each and other. Till better regulation of our industry and for that we need a better Government.

What is in this deal, worthy of a postal worker voting Yes?

I can't see anything. Not a single damn thing.

This is your own personal view, is it not?

I see stability in voting yes, 6% is better than many others are getting.

As for the sick pay, that is still better than many other industries, and some colleagues have been known to take the micky, putting extra work on colleagues.

Regarding revisions, if a round is not achievable, then it will just fail. I for one will continue to do my best, and if extra hours are needed to compete I can do overtime to earn more money, or go home and not complete.

You can't get forced to work over your contracted hours, and at the end of the day it is not life or death if someone is dissatisfied that there mail is late.

It could be life or death if it is a NHS Appointment Letter that doesn't get delivered until after the due date for a Cancer check or Heart Condition where sometimes a days delay can make a real difference especially with how hard it is to get Appointments in general

How does someone going sick put extra work on others? And who cares if sick pay will be better than other industries, why should ours get worse than it is?! No you cant be forced to work over but many will already know that management will and do bully people who arnt apparently working hard enough

We unanimously rejected a final offer of a 9% rise over 18 months. Now we are being offered 10% over 3 years! It is a far worse deal than the one we were originally offered. In the meantime we have not received any back pay that we would have received if we had accepted the original deal. We have lost up to 18 days pay also due to the strikes. I do not understand how the CWU can try to sell us all this new offer as a massive improvement? It is far worse and they are now in agreement with Royal Mail. Not long ago they were going in with all guns blazing under that Arthur Mullard sounding twerp and have come out with a leaking water pistol! What has caused this change in their behaviour I wonder?!!!
