what is the main reason behind tracked importance, business custom or bonuses?
Probably both, businesses will complain and seek compensation if they are not delivered which will lead to bonuses not being paid?

Meanwhile OFCOM seemingly just ignores the USO failings, even though the PC recently brought it to their attention.

It's a shame they've made conditions so bad that loyal long term staff are jacking it in and leaving in droves (I'm thinking of doing the same) but I know that's what RM (the retards in management) want. That's why they are doing this to us...but at the end of the day you have to look after yourself and if something comes along maybe not so rewarding numerically but a damn site more rewarding work balance/health wise (mentally & physically) then you have to take it.

The problem with the "just use agency" schtick is that it's a two way street... Sure, Royal Mail can call them in last minute on heavy days and don't have to pay them when they aren't needed, but if someone offers them better pay or less hassle, they have no obligation to turn up when the company needs them (and that's what happened in our DO this week)

I agree that's it's put forward as it's for the good of the business .... but I really believe it's because it affects the manager's Bonus! :no no

I was asked into the office and told that there'd been an Area Conference call and they'd "Lost" a contract, worth millions. The manager was worried about the future of the Business :left: and as I'd been bringing Tracked items back that was a bad thing.

Do these idiots think that we really believe what they're saying? Do they believe it themselves? I really can't be bothered to argue with them I just say, "Yeah OK"! .... and then carry on as before. :cuppa

Cut off and brought back tracked the other day to be hauled into the office the following morning. “Why have you missed all these tracked?” Because I had to cut off and don’t prioritise them as per ST word. “Oh, well can you prioritise them in future, as we need to make sure the parcels don’t pile up in the office on health and safety grounds”.
But they just introduced auto redelivery which has the same effect......

It's basically like we've been on strike with the amount of mail that's been left in the frames now that people have either left or on leave. One walk hasn't even been out in a week and had to basically rotate between two walks myself but Wednesday was something else. These changes from the scan to route to now the next redelivery change has completely ruined this job and only going to get worse with these new changes. It's practically summer now yet they are expecting people to complete in lesser hours???

Ofcom is the biggest waste of space and money in the whole nation they all should be fired on the spot because they are useless as much use as a chocolate fire guard!

Simon Thompson: Our policy is absolutely clear that letters and parcels have exactly the same priority.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Can’t cover days off or annual leave so left to try and do two jobs on your own so the Mail just piles up and up.

Well the rogue managers are at it again as we were told all Tracked had to go no matter what at the end of last week. The snowball effect of automatic redelivery meant leaving most of the first frame, which was an underestimate on my part as we still went over.

I'm of the opinion that when the contention about prioritising tracked began the union should have made it clear that it constituted an unreasonable instruction and members would be protected for refusing it. Members can plainly see the contradiction between Simon's words on TV and the reality in their DO, but they don't want to become a martyr putting it into practice.

The situation in delivery offices is getting worse day by day, Royal Mail and the CWU are supposed to be trying to push a bad deal over the line, I honestly believe the company do not want a deal

Are you sure? I thought the more Senior would stick it out till retirement.
I will admit, the job is s**t for the new entrants. Walking through my workplace, it's a job of many nations now, and most are from poorer countries.
