CWU Video : Last night, General Secretary Dave Ward, answered members questions live from Portsmouth

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

It's going to be a hard sell whichever way you look at it. :hmmmm

I think a lot of Posties will vote NO simply because they're so pissed off with the situation. It's hard to be pragmatic under the current climate and expecting any of us to trust management ... yet again..... is definately asking a lot! :cuppa

They declare within the deal that the uso will be honoured. Since the deal was agreed the so called nonsense revisions have continued through. Don't they understand the meaning of the word deal. On that basis what is a yes vote worth?

Well give those chumps 500 that'll seal it. Insulting to say the least. This job is absolutely ridiculous now. You tell managers of the ridiculousness of it and they agree only to follow up with the fact upper management don't give a toss. That's the deal right there. A complete nonsense and a shambles. The union are pushing ahead which suggests to me collusion.

It's bonkers mate. If this is going on before we've even had a vote what the hell are we voting on. Even the corruption in government stays silent until they've won their position. Royal mail aren't even doing that. It's hilarious really if it wasn't so destructive to our livelihoods and mental well being. Like I say I can't vote yes to this on going nonsense. If its game over its game over. This job isn't possible for the next five years nevermind the 30 at which time I can retire. Complete madness.

yeah im livid they are getting away with it, so brazenly aswell. Look on the facebook comments everyone is fuming about the board and state of things in general. i really dont know whats needed for this to be attended to, like whistleblowers taking pics of frames jammed with daysworth of mail etc. This is the nations mail for fecks sake, its insane this can be happening

recalibrate and come to terms you cant deliver it all the time, youre not supposed to by design. This board are not worth your mental/physical health

i'm currently 15 minutes from the end, webb as just popped on so i switched off, cannot listen to him, but all mr ward has done is reinforce my no vote, he has sold us out,
i almost smashed my screen when he was on about the sick pay deal will still be the best in the market, we don't have an area or office rep but he's thrown those suspended/sacked under the bus, they will deal with family friendly hours, yeah right
and the best is they still have power to be involved in upcoming decisions! :left:
even now rm are spunking money away with bonuses to comms for unrealistic revisions, but they may revert back :left:
2% pay award for 24/25 agreed when nobody knows the financial climate? quite bizarre
he did say inadvertently i think that it's s**t or bust which is the only thing i believed him say, my understanding anyway

The only reason you would now vote yes to this monstrosity is to try and buy time to find an other job. The bullying that will be attached to completing each day will be astronomic. Us so called legacy contracts will leave and a new slave labour workforce will take over on rapid turnover. No long term employment. On a rainy day they'll just walk. I don't see how rapid turnover makes money but that is most certainly what they are going for. Oh yeah the future is unimportant to these leaches. They've already made a fast buck. Reduce balance sheet further short term squeeze a little more and then onwards and upwards. The definition of a scumbag capitalist society. We'll all be gone and a once great workforce destroyed

Another example is amazon. You have a guy worth in excess of 150 billion. Pay em 20 quid an hour and be worth 100 billion. It's so bonkers this insatiable greed.

I certainly wouldn't like the task of trying to sell this diabolical deal.

It's as plain as the nose on anyone's face, that having ignored Ward's grandstanding during this dispute, the company holding their nerve when we brought out our big guns, black friday, cyber monday, and Christmas, that Ward and the union top brass shat themselves, could see a future where they would be sidelined, cushy jobs gone for a burton, lavish salaries finished, and horror of horrors, possibly returning to the shopfloor, having to do the job we're now lumbered with, thanks to many poorly negotiated deals by those clowns, that they sold us out so shamelessly.

Sadly, I think the clowns will get this shitty deal over the line, and the bastards will rub their hands, back slap each other, and start planning their future attack on postal workers.

Make no mistake, Thompson, or whatever bastard succeeds him, will come back for more, that's as sure a bet, as you're ever likely to make.

You got to look at it this way, 2 years ago we proved to them that when we're on board we can do a fantastic job. We returned a turnover of 700 million quid! A very handsome performance by anybody's standards. Were they happy with this? No they came after our terms and conditions! These are the abhorrent people we are dealing with and the union has turned to the dark side and fell in to line with them to save their own skins at our expense. Lambs to the slaughter!
