The IHR that can be requested by the member is called “Protected Conversation” the terms are the same but you have to sign a Non Disclosure agreement agreeing to not discuss the details with anyone. We just had a member leaving under these terms.
Hope this info is useful.

Never heard about this “Protected Conversation” you mention, though any employee can request IHR from their manager.
It will be up to occupational health in recommending or not.

Do you have a link that references this procedure and where?

There are employers where you have to disclose previous medical conditions as a condition of employment under health and safety so cannot be bound by a previous non disclosure agreement.

The only time you would sign a Non Disclosure Agreement is with settlement not admitting liability with an employment tribunal claim. It will also apply as a contractual term protecting company sensitive data on termination of employment with redundancy over statutory minimum agreed by both parties.
