Another S**t day! Mailsort in abundance - nobody cares. IPS yet another joke - people taking the piss, going for fags, nipping round in their car to local Macdonalds. Management do nothing (just want to be popular with the lads -quiet life syndrome). Sit at Ips eating said Macdonalds and drinking coffee and still management do nothing.
Not for me to do or say anything (I'm just a postie - not a manager). Not my F**ing job to berate them!!

New working practices about to start (thanks CWU!!). Everyone has head in the sand. "Won't affect me!". Probably they'll still carry on reading postcards and sorting about 3 letters a minute (while both hands are full with the burger and the coffee).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a management man. I just think that the tossers who take the piss are as responsible as CWU for the crap we're gonna face in the next few years.

I just go in, do my job, and get the f** out of there. I used to really enjoy the job but now it's just "hang in for the (reduced) pension". This job is gonna get garbage now!

I had them to (sometimes 2 to a house  ) and we had loads of charity letters and I can't forget to mention the huge pile of Sky mags :nana
I thought DFS did mail outs when they weren't having a sale - anyone who pays "full price" at DFS definitely shouldn't be let out unaccompanied.

Enjoying my day off! ---Looks a bit wintry outside, so it is nice to only have to LOOK out instead of going out. Will spend the day catching up with household chores! Regards Ewen.

Nightmare today! Acting Dom tried to save money on the pressure hours, by getting peeps to throw off part-timers walks. (They don't do the IPS) 2 and 3 to a walk, and it was mega busy anyway. Most people tried but they ended up walking off and throwing off their own walks instead. Acting Dom had to appologise and concede defeat. People were very upset. Loads of walks went out REALLY late. :cry

One of the busiest days I have has since I have been here last may. The amount of mail was a joke and on top of this has door/doors to do still have 1 and a half rows left. This job can be a nightmare, on the bright side I put in 10 hours overtime last week and probably the same this.

Very heavy today. Mech bundles were unbelievable! Usually have about 8-10 large bundles on a normal (heavy) day. Today I had 17 and they were huge! Ended up with 8 bags, 2 more than usual and every one was either exactly on the weight limit or just under. Still the amount of mail I've delivered during the last 3 days must mean that Fri & Sat will be mega-light. NOT.
Anyone noticed that the last time we had a strike ballot, (not the yes vote but the ballot for the strike) RM punished us like this, absolute stacks of mailsort, dsa and 2nd class rubbish that isn't dated. I personally think they have a warehouse somewhere that they have filled with this junk, if a strike ballot is called, they empty the whole lot on us, naughty, naughty posties, we'll teach them. :evil/mad

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
