Were the union's hand's forced?
See alot of people complaining about the deal & rightfully so. With RM threatening to put us into administration & compulsory redundancies if further striking happened, it doesn't seem the union could realistically call another strike.
Let's face it, rm weren't bluffing. Analysts that cover rm all recognize that rm's financials are dire, lots of debt. Had people lost jobs through cr, the union would have been looked at as reckless for risking people's jobs.

Re: Were the union's hand's forced?
I reckon RM told the negotiators were not budging this is your deal
If you don’t like or accept it do what you have to do
Dave then took the deal to PEC with the same instructions and they shat it
If this deal goes through it’s basically what RM wanted at the start
CWU should be repaying money to all members who lost earnings in this dispute

When you strike at Xmas and it has zero impact you are done.

Re: Were the union's hand's forced?
This company isn't going anywhere they are trying to have us over as they have always done , they just invested £8000000 in infrastructure , thousands on agency staff it's all part of the master plan ....
They aren't going to let a 500 year old company just disappear and it's us that have made it last this long not them ....

Good tactic. Well thought through and put forward with good reasoned argument. I'm can't understand why the CWU negotiators didn't use it during negotiations. If it failed they could try baseball bat's.hans solo wrote: ↑24 Apr 2023, 19:31I would let it burntheelegend701 wrote: ↑24 Apr 2023, 19:20Let's let it burnlads if we stick together as one against the tyranny and we will win this war

Re: Were the union's hand's forced?
The irony being that's the exact argument RM have used against the union to force their hand.timbo1234 wrote: ↑24 Apr 2023, 20:16Good tactic. They purposely spent away hundreds of millions, and now threaten administration which lets be honest is fairytale stuff, Simon Thompson at the shareholder meeting last year said the business was robust and had a good future.

Re: Were the union's hand's forced?
Maybe the let it burn brigade should just find alternative employment and let the rest of us get on with it.aiden01 wrote: ↑24 Apr 2023, 20:08Don't worry mate its the usual let it burn brigade on every thread.richietns wrote: ↑24 Apr 2023, 19:49But if it does burn then what,I had a job and some money now I haven't shite with the kids and mortgage.theelegend701 wrote: ↑24 Apr 2023, 19:20Let's let it burnlads if we stick together as one against the tyranny and we will win this war
The deal is lousy but I would still like do keep my job and to be honest most places out there have worse T&Cs then what our deal is offering.
