Yes they tried it last year before the IA but its one of the things that has been put on the back burner.bexhil palace wrote:If i'm not mistaken, and please correct me if i am,are not RM proposing 6 D2D's per week?
If that is the case, surely one a day would constitute a 100% call rate.

Re: pegasus health and safety
I believe that they have an input on the hazards and conditions of the walk. Comes under risk assessment. Ours pointed out where Safe Drops, Pouch Drops were placed. Also they had an input into the hazards such as steep hills etc.robinhood wrote:h/s rep here

Being out for longer periods in the sun much later in the day and the hazards caused in connection with sunburn.robinhood wrote:h/s rep here

walking at 3.8/4 MPH (what ever it is) in the heat of the midday sun and stresses involved.
Walking at 3.8/4 MPH on icy pavements and the hazards involved (shouldn't we walk more slowly in the icy conditions).
You are a HEALTH and safety rep not just a safety rep.

Re: Pegaus georoute?
They have been phasing pegasus in at our office over the past 8 weeks. Two roads done two to go. Most people are booking up to 2 hours overtime, others cutting off up to 2 bags a day, the odd ones cutting off and booking and the POVF doing it for nothing. While the posties on the other two roads are laughing their socks off saying we told you so (god help us when it's our turn). The place is a shambles mail piled up everywhere and the quality of service is appalling. It's a complete cock up. They bring in people on nights on overtime, 2 years after getting rid of the night operation. I even heard today that they are making new duties to cover peoples cut offs. Pegasus is a great tool for making all the duties equal but our manager used it as a cost cutting tool and now they are in the pooh. HA HA.brisomerset wrote:Can someone explain to me what this is all about? As going to happen in our office very soon.

all pegasus has done is move one load from one walk onto another !! they should be using it to create new walks , therefore new employment (not that you could recommend this job now !) but that should be the case - inho all walks should be no more than 3.5 hrs and no more than around 400 - 500 calls depending on route , some walks are over 600 !! its all just too much for posties to do - however the more we all put up with the conditions the more it goes on and im afraid that as with a lot of places now there attitude is if you dont like it leave ! regardless of weather you a good or crap postie ! - in fact the worse and more un-reliable you are seems like you could go onto being management material

When all this Pegasus came out... I was working in a D.O. It came in and re routed some heavy and light walks... It then said that over all in a office with 75 walks we needed another 7-10 walks.. Wot did My DUM want out of it?? WELL to keep that news quiet... Our rep was shite and had no backing sadly... But was well liked among the senior bods.. So got away with alot.. IN my opinion...
The news never came out and then lo and behold... DUM wants to lose a driving duty and keep the walks as they are.. HAHAHAHA ! After all that.. Keep em as they are and give 1hr docket eah on the really heavy walks... 7 8 BAGS back in 97-98.. shite house walks...
Then the waybackward kicks in and every year we supposed to lose hrs and make more cuts to be efficient.... BOLLOX... We aint got a level playing field from the start... How on earth do you then make cuts when ur under to much pressure as it is???
From then on the Delivery game was fecked... Well and truely....
4hr + walks are something that went on then.. With people coming in 90mins before time... Thats the worse ive seen...
FECK THE RUNNERS N EARLY BIRDS N THE CAR USERS TO...
OUT :lfo :cfo

Yes, spot on. Geo route is just an excuse to take walks out of the office, we stand to lose 6 walks at my D.O, when one of the geo route walks was tested at my office and it took 4.5 hours to complete.Phantom wrote:Higher the walk speed and lower the call rate (our office is suppose to be 81%) entered = removal of walks
It is a tool to purely remove walking duties.

MY walk before gio-route hit our place was 650+ points and was 3.40 hrs, now after gio-route, with my input and a senior postie its now 3.25hrs and 610+ points so too close to 3 1/2 and over 600 but it is do-able without running and all the other time savers that people do.protect us wrote: 3.5 hrs and no more than around 400 - 500 calls depending on route , some walks are over 600 !!
After my experience today (see "How was your day thread") I wonder how much Gio-route has cocked up the walks if the DOM has said you have to do it the way the program says without listening to the guys who know how to it best. US. If we had left mine the way gioroute would have wanted it I would have had less drop points but would have been out for 4 hrs on a normal day.
