Re: No confidence vote
How... how can DW sit in front of the camera and have the cheek to tell us what a good deal this is? Has ST and board got some dirt on him? Be honest, tell us it's s**t, because we know it's s**t.

Re: No confidence vote
I dont think you guys know the realities and difficulties faced by the union.
Dave Ward and most of the others are decent intelligent experienced senior reps whose life work is to safeguard us. I've had my own moments of surprise and anger with some things that have happened. But as good as I think they are, and they are v good, they aint gods and cant immediately change reality.
I for one am very glad they are there and work for us.
Even if you disagree with me (and thats fine), you're going to get a vote. Use it as you see fit. But Im telling you, we wouldn't have a chance without the cwu.

Don't you see, they have achieved nothing for us on any level. Terms and conditions are shot to pieces.tyl wrote: ↑21 Apr 2023, 17:23I dont think you guys know the realities and difficulties faced by the union.

I know that they will argue " you have seen what we prevented" but be honest they haven't prevented anything at all .
All the EA went through even after the ceasefire agreement.
It's a NO VOTE.

Re: No confidence vote
Exactly a small victory here is not worth cheering. Cwu led us into deep water and then left us while the Royal Mail board stood on our heads

Re: No confidence vote
Royal Mail threatening to end full time release for its area and above reps and going back on delivery is one hell of a persuasion. (Cough)

Re: No confidence vote
Personally, i feel that they should call this for what it is, a very poor deal but the best they could get. Think its insulting to members intelligence to portray this as "groundbreaking" or anything remotely successful.tyl wrote: ↑21 Apr 2023, 17:23I dont think you guys know the realities and difficulties faced by the union.

Re: No confidence vote
The union are between a rock and a hard place.
RM have shown they are quite willing to let us strike and pocket the wages they save whilst keeping the mail moving. If the union went in hard we would be striking and RM don’t seem to care, especially now after Xmas.
The union missed a big opportunity before Xmas, they called far too few strikes.
Now mail has dropped off, RM has calculated they allow a slightly watered down deal or let us starve ourselves while they save 10 million every strike day.
It’s a shitty situation where the wider realty of privatisation has now finally bared it’s ugly head down onto postal workers and the CWU, who are desperate to survive as well.
