Probably one of the worst decisions by the the union to not fight to keep the ihr benefits we had. a real let down for all delivery staff very poor :thumbdown
How do you know the benefits are gone..

Well it certainly sounds like it according to royal mail by deducting the amount you have been off from your end leaving amount so if your off 3months. then you are deemed unfit to carry on you will recieve 3 months less lumper not sure about the pilon payment hopefully thats still agreed :cry

We don't know what has and what hasn't been agreed until we see the agreement and then vote on it.

I'm not sure how thats going to work as,say your off 3 months before getting IHR,thats 12 paydays, now these paydays we'll be paying tax and the IHR payment is supposed to be 34 weeks tax free, so will RM gain 12 weeks of tax from the poor person who has had to leave work though no fault of their own.

You get a statement showing how much you will be offered before you sign anything . My advice is speak to Union as I've since found out you have a lot of rights and it's not easy for a buisness to force you out. Question any scoping exercise results etc.
I have recently taken IHR
There is two option
* 34+12 total 46 week pay out only.
*unum income protection +pension +pay out 16000 to 28000 after 3 year
All depend on your health professionals recommendations this is correct information.

If i understand the agreed deal, the new IHR is 16 weeks tax free lump sum, up to 12 weeks pay in lieu of notice (taxed), and any untaken annual leave (taxed). No deduction of previous sick pay from the lump sum. Assuming that the deal is agreed, this IHR scheme starts from the 1st of August 2023.

While this is better than the previously proposed ihr scheme (34 weeks lump sum tapered down by 1 week for every week of sick pay taken), it's not as good as the current scheme.

I only hope my final OH appointment gets done soon so I can hopefully get out on the current full IHR scheme...

Yes.
Since the vast majority of IHR follows a prolonged period of sick absence this was considered the better of two bad options.

Hi, does anybody know how long it takes for ill health retirement to come through? I had my 2nd OH appointment on 26th May 2023 for LTBIH with lump sum, and this has gone through to HR with a case created on this date. My manager has told me that he has done everything his end, which I think is sending it on to the area manager to authorise, then I think it goes to the leavers team to work out the payment, then it goes back to the area manager, then onto my manager, who then calls you in. It is now 7 weeks, and I hoped it would have been sorted by now, before the compensation goes down to 16 weeks on 1st August 2023. Thanks.

I’m fairly certain if OH have already authorised you to leave the business through ill health, you’ll get the full amount regardless of it going past 1st august.
