Agreement reached v offer before xmas

Post by rmchat112 »

Leaving and putting aside all other strings and parts of the deal

How is this deal economically any better than the one we were offered before Xmas?

I seem to recall we were offered an 18 month deal of 6.5% plus a 2.5% lump sum

Compared to now

A 3 year deal of 10% plus a lump sum of 500 or 1500 whichever way you cut it up.

I think an 18month deal would have been better but that horse had now bolted.

I just don't think monetary wise this 10% 3 year deal is great at all once you take into account the way our wages have been ravaged by inflation over the last couple of years

Penny for your thoughts?

If it involves going to 35 hour like the past agreement I would vote yes

It’s a 💩💩💩 deal, but sadly management know this is a low intelligence job & the dangle of £1500 should stitch us up for the next 3 years 😩

I know , so with inflation mostly at 10% for the past year, we have effectively taken a 8% hit over the past 12 months!!

Would you accept a 'commitment to working towards a 35 hour week'? Because that's likely all you'll get and RM will not be committed to that at all. They'll just blame inefficiency for their failure to deliver a 35 hour week (i.e. it will be our fault).

The only thing we will be able to trust are actual guarantees, not the union's pious hopes and RM's empty promises.

To be fair most employers don't pay breaks, so technically a full timer is already on 32 hours a week?
