Absolutely, what stories could be cooked up next year to back out of the (supposed) 6% ,as I say, I don’t trust them and whoever is in charge next year can’t lower our pay at least.

How much money do you wish to lose by continuing to strike to try and win back your back pay?
This may all be true, but I’d rather have an agreement, a pay rise and a lump sum, instead of having changes rammed through anyway without them.
The thing is Some of the changes RM wanted are contractual, and can only be changed with the consent of the Union, I belive the sick pay issue is one of those. So the company could not impose much of what they want without the CWU collusion. It is the double edged sward of Collective bargaining.
The facts are The company just cannot get what they want without union involvement and acceptance by its members. If this deal removes any of my contractual rights I will vote against it in an instant.

When all is said and done, the top of the agenda must be to install trust and togetherness amongst RM and employees. Problem is, for many people, I think that trust has now gone forever. RM will be back for more strings. Its like being in an abusive relationship, this can have long lasting effects on one's mindset, in any job, not just RM.

I don’t trust them to give us 6% next year. Take the ‘larger’ rise now and £500.
If we do agree this sham, then yes , get the 6% built into the wages straight away!

Basically used our own payrise to backdate the lump sum, most are 1500 out of pocket .

Clearly Rm stood their ground with regards to the state of the finance of the company and the the union have agreed. Will get the 6% next year if we take the lump sum.

We should have been on 35 hours now under the pathway to change which equate to like 4% so I look at this as a 2% rise next year.

Just glad it's over the lump sum will help alot of ppl in these difficult times.

Looking & listening on here & around my office I can’t see anyone with an ounce of sanity voting yes 🤯
Is it sane to lose even more money that you will never get back by continuing to Strike?
Most of the hardliners on here must have no children at home and no mortgage if they want to continue to Strike for the foreseeable future.
It does not work like that. You will get back all the money lost over a longer period, if you get a better deal. The better the deal the quicker you get back all the strike money plus whatever increase was. It would be further enhanced when future pay rises are agreed, as your pay will be starting at a far higher level. It is the curse of most people to view things on a very short term basis. Its why the company always likes to tempt stupid people into thinking a bonus now is worth forgoing a small pay (long term) rate increase.
unless you plan on leaving soon, there is no advantage to not continuing to strike in at least the medium term, and definitely no advantage to accepting short term highly taxed one off bribes.

You really think by continuing to Strike you are going to come out ahead after you have lost yet more money, pension contributions and annual leave.
Royal Mail have hardly flinched during this dispute and yet you think we can get them to cave in.
Many people on here are totally deluded.

As mentioned previously, Royal Mail has not flinched and playing hardball.

It is obvious if they reached no agreement Royal Mail would have just imposed the changes without agreement, just like the 2% pay rise.

My concern is any new starters, which was a red line.

If they allow that to continue, then that will be the Pandora's box end game
