Ill health retirement
Afternoon, not sure if this entirely the right place to post this but currently in a position where I’ve been off long term sick and IHR has started to be mentioned. Just wondering if anyone knows if the IHR scheme is still as it was or has the new system been introduced that was within the proposal?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I hope it’s still available.I’m in the same position as you.Royal Mail has put in a proposal to reduce it by taking away sick leave money you’ve already had. Let’s hope the union can talk them round to what it should be.

I am the same has yourself, been off 8 months, I have my 3rd oh assist appointment next week. Terms and conditions should be the same. No agreement has been reached. It's in your contract.i have been asking for ihr the first month I went sick. Very slow process. Hope this helps.Postie303330 wrote: ↑14 Apr 2023, 13:37Afternoon, not sure if this entirely the right place to post this but currently in a position where I’ve been off long term sick and IHR has started to be mentioned. Re: Ill health retirement
But we are talking about the MTSF agreement secured through collective bargaining, which Royal Mail complies or rejects, which parts of a national agreement at their leisure.

I went 3 weeks ago as a full timer was 22000 with a bit of holiday pay outstanding. Done 28 years you dont even get a letter etc thanking you for your service. As for scoping that's just a box ticking exercise .

Yeah that’s what it was. Just wondering if any is aware of it being changed to the new scheme. As it’ll be a right kick in the balls if I get naff all! Doesn’t really leave you financially very well off being unable to work and offloaded for nothing.

Re: Ill health retirement
You get a statement showing how much you will be offered before you sign anything . My advice is speak to Union as I've since found out you have a lot of rights and it's not easy for a buisness to force you out. Question any scoping exercise results etc.
