Well they talk to day and we act tomorrow Thing is If no deal we will go on strike we voted to do so. As to the repercussions it is down to the incompetence of those at the top. We can only hope that sanity prevails but they have more to lose than us all.

10% pay rise over 3 years is an insult whichever way they dress it up. Who in their right mind would vote yes for a real terms pay cut? Surely it’s time now to announce a one week walkout followed by work to rule and an overtime ban. Let’s get serious about it. No more pussyfooting.

Management clearly testing the water for a yes vote this morning. I'm sure they were reporting back on majorities. They will try and push the union in giving us the vote.

They are thinking the turkeys will vote for Christmas just because they are fed up with the farm.
I'm turning purple!

Starts by suggesting an agreement could be made tomorrow, then includes a good dose of criticism to go with it. In short, they are so far away from eachother

Tune in for the usual Friday 5pm update..."talks to continue next week"

Manager: *explains the deal
Me: the lump sum won't be the full money for most of us here though will it? As it's pro rata and most of us in this section are on 30 hour contracts
Manager: I don't know about that...
Me: and it will be heavily taxed, and will probably mess up our tax codes as RM will give us £1500 one week then deduct 7/37ths from our wages 2 weeks later, as they tend to do. This will leave HMRC confused as to what we earn, and they'll take extra tax for months after.
Manager: well I don't know about that ...
Me: so why are you promoting it if you don't know the details?
Manager: *walks off

Not so I think we all know now about this and at the end of this path before us is only but one action.

I think this really is the end, we will get some closure I think this time, don't think it will be good news though tbh.
i really hope, so i have had enough of this crap now - i just want a decent pay off and i am off !
I can see that eventually there will be pay offs for a lot of people..... in time they will really push the owner-driver idea through, mail will go down further, a 5 day or 4 day letter service will happen...

So at least there's some hope some of us will get a pay off, maybe sometime in the next 5 years.

Friday 14-04 at 4.45pm….

URGENT UPDATE FOR ROYAL MAIL GROUP MEMBERS
“The CWU and Royal Mail group have continued talks during this week. Progress has been made in some areas against a very difficult backdrop. We understand how frustrating it has been with how much time it has taken but we must stress there are still some custard creams left. During the middle of this week we thought we were at the bottom of the biscuit tin but then Simon Thompson arrived at the talks with some jammy dodgers. Yet ANOTHER example of the underhand tactics deployed against your union. Talks will continue over this weekend with the view to reaching an agreement by early next week. The postal executive committee will be meeting next Tuesday to endorse another week of this prolonged tedious bullshit. Stick by your union and we come through this.
