Surely the union can’t agree to a watered down Ill health retirement. We’ve already been shafted with voluntary redundancy’s.It’s not your fault you’ve been unfortunate to have your career cut short through illness or injury so to take away sick pay you’ve already taken is heartless to say the least.

It's not just the sick pay but the IHR payments most of you have done this job day in day out for years and yet will be chucked on the scrap heap by people who will get big bonuses by implementing this. This is how this how this piss poor company is run now that they tell you they don't have the money but they do. But your the ones who will pay for it if your back goes or knee or bitten by a dog they are getting your due payments while they sit on nice chairs not being questioned about it.

A1. No, of course not, but we will be abide by all regulations.

Q2. So what about our three year pay deal?

A2. Your 3 year pay deal is gold standard, but and your retirement is equal to King Juan Carlos!

Q3 So you are talking nonsense?

A3. you No Ricky held a whiteboard up and said no it's good!

Worth noting that when they say they will pay statutory sick pay for the first three days of second absence, that means ZERO PAY
I’m not sure that is accurate but you can blame the decimation of our previous sick pay policy on the morons that have abused it over the years. We had people who you could guarantee would be out the week before Christmas or were suddenly struck down the week before annual leave.

We have long been our own enemies and now we are all suffering regardless.
Whilst I agree that those that abuse the system and take the absolute piss should be punished, don't agree with this settlement of punishing an entire workforce for minor amount of people doing this. All down to piss poor managers not acting accordingly to them. Old job, any suspicious management had of you taking obvious absences patterns you'd be dragged straight into the office.
Most of them have gone in to management . All the bone idle Posties jumped ship a few years ago and took the easy option, then judge us by their low standards.

its a 2% pay rise (basically nothing). We will never see the other 8%. In 2 years time will be in the exact same position. RM cannot be trusted.

'sickness means we fail to deliver quality of service'.....

since when did Royal Mail care about quality of service.....you are running a service which is of abysmal quality and happily doing so to save money on staff wages/van mileage/maintenance/fuel.... quality of service went out the window 2 years ago.

Let me get this right....

If you have an absence of 3 days then a second absence of 1 day for the whole year then it's not so bad, but...
If you have a 1 day absence then a 3 day absence then you are shafted even though you've had the same amount of days off as above.

If so, that's ridiculous and unfair. It will also lead to people milking the first absence.

Looks like a Russian tv propaganda station. I was half expecting Zareena to start issuing nuclear threats on CWU headquarters in Wimbledon.

If anything it will increase the time people take off sick. If people are going to lose three days pay for the second absence then they may as well go off for a couple of weeks to make it worth while.

It’s seems a pointless stumbling block for something which won’t save them much in the long run unless they will try to attack sick pay again in a couple of years.

Or say if we are really struggling then just get a loan.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

So as we face an attack on our terms and conditions, due in part they say to people abusing the system, your response is to go on a public forum and state that you will abuse the system even more.
Brilliant.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Correct
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
