Re: RMCtv : Pay and change offer - your questions answered
This is why we're at odds, the people in that video are taking mega-salaries from the company, yet the frontline staff are what make the company run.
Why should we be dictated to. There's been a cost of living crisis for over a year now that is effecting the frontline staff the most. Give us a genuine and fair pay rise and the company moves forward.
The £200 million they've lost from strike action would have paid for most of it already.
You just can't reason with them, they want to destroy the CWU, the job as we know it, the t&c's and the pay, but look after all those at the top as we see in this video.

As I say, it has been established once and for all that he is part of management. Can we please just leave him to it now he's been rumbled?
At the end of the day you are just postmen [sic].You deserve nothing more than what's been offered and probably a lot less.

It’s like a twisted, parallel fever dream, watching them spout their lies in the shiny offices…
“It’s change, that you know, needs to happen. We have to alter sick pay, and screw over new starters… for you know, our customers. They are the most important”.
They really are disturbing, soulless drones.

Worth noting that when they say they will pay statutory sick pay for the first three days of second absence, that means ZERO PAY
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

All I heard was blah blah blah and lies lies lies.
They must really think we are thick with all this corporate speak. I will be voting no at any agreement.

If the CWU put this on the table and try to dress it up , it’s a big fat no vote from me.

Pure revisionism.
It is no the case that out I.A has caused the current financial situation they state they are in ... and which doesn't allow for a decent pay rise.
Where was the decent pay rise before I.A was called?
It wasn't there. They offered 2% and another 3% if we accepted all the unacceptable 'strings'.
If they would have agreed 10% conditional on strings most of us would have said "lets talk about the strings"
575 million to shareholders equates to a 15% pay rise for 115,000 members. 200 million 'lost earnings' is another 5.5%.
But No! They have their agenda and that is to weaken the CWU so that over the long term they can bring in more and more changes that are detrimental to those who create the earnings.

I’m not sure that is accurate but you can blame the decimation of our previous sick pay policy on the morons that have abused it over the years. We had people who you could guarantee would be out the week before Christmas or were suddenly struck down the week before annual leave.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑12 Apr 2023, 21:22Worth noting that when they say they will pay statutory sick pay for the first three days of second absence, that means ZERO PAY
We have long been our own enemies and now we are all suffering regardless.

I already knew that statutory was zero for first three days but Ricky McAuley confirms second absence will be unpaid for first three days at 7:00 mins of the video which is the first time they have confirmed it will be zero pay rather than using the term 'statutory pay' ( which sounds like we will still be paid just a bit less to those who didnt know that statutory is actually £0 for first three days )LouBarlow wrote: ↑12 Apr 2023, 21:33I’m not sure that is accurate but you can blame the decimation of our previous sick pay policy on the morons that have abused it over the years. Keeping it real, I don't have a problem with this measure - it is just 3 days - yes - the abusers have made all the rest of us suffer - same as happens with people working for free by coming in early.LouBarlow wrote: ↑12 Apr 2023, 21:33I’m not sure that is accurate but you can blame the decimation of our previous sick pay policy on the morons that have abused it over the years. But deducting sick pay from the ill health payment is a devious move.
Flexi time will cost every postee an average of 2%a year by my calculations.

My point stands. Just like you should be blaming the ridiculous revisions on people running around, starting early and working through their breaks, blame those milking sick pay for where we are now.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑12 Apr 2023, 21:35I already knew that statutory was zero for first three days but Ricky McAuley confirms second absence will be unpaid for first three days at 7:00 mins of the video which is the first time they have confirmed it will be zero pay rather than using the term 'statutory pay' which sounds like we will still be paid just a bit less to those who didnt know that statutory is actually £0 for first three days.LouBarlow wrote: ↑12 Apr 2023, 21:33I’m not sure that is accurate but you can blame the decimation of our previous sick pay policy on the morons that have abused it over the years. Re: RMCtv : Pay and change offer - your questions answered
First 3 days of sickness are not paid SSP - so if they are saying they will apply SSP rules then that is zero for first 3 days. If they are saying they will pay the daily rate of SSP for those first 3 days then that would be about £22/day.k979aaa wrote: ↑12 Apr 2023, 21:37SSP is this £60 for the whole week off YOU need to claim it back here https://www.gov.uk/employers-sick-pay/e ... -form-ssp1 If your full time in our job!
