Given that the new King's head is on the RM stamps, maybe I thought this would be a different outcome :cuppa

You'll be fine, the CEO will have you selling ice creams from it.

Managers are being asked to consider if they can show the televised Coronation on site without impacting the operation
The TV will be left on while everyone is out on delivery. :cuppa

The additional bank holiday on Monday 8 May will give everyone the chance to celebrate this memorable occasion.
Its historical not memorable Simon, a Birthday is memorable, the Queens Coronation was historical. :arrrghhh

However as I never work my Birthday which coincides with Stars Wars day i will be at home anyway.

Call out 🗣️ Coronation
With King Charles III Coronation just around the corner, we'd like to reflect on Queen Elizabeth's Coronation, back in 1953. 👑
Do you have a family member or friend who worked at Royal Mail during that time? If so, I'd love to hear more! You can drop me a message on Workplace chat or via email 👉 Jessica.trusler@royalmail.com

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Did anyone think any different, the company couldn't give a shiny s*** about us or this memorable occasion.
As demonstrated when the queen died

Thanks for letting us have the Bank Holiday to celebrate, really generous of you Royal Mail.
I'm afraid I'll be at home watching the coronation on 6th May, along with all the top brass, communications staff, HR staff and all the other layers of RM 'management' that wouldn't know a working Saturday if it smacked them in the chops! Very easy to make decisions like this when they have ZERO impact on those making them
