The £1500 option would be cheaper for RM as many eligible will have left. And yes the tax would be savage so we’d want more than a 2% wage rise on top of this.

40 pieces of silver?
Is that due to inflation?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Do you mean he can "do better" or do more?

I'm baffled by the pro management comments on here, repeated time and time again by the same few users.

From my own experience of my own office and those close by, we are in a dreadful state.

Yet the same vocal few are on day after day at odds with their co workers.

If they are co workers?

As always the people behind the posts are not "just postmen" that quote can be attributed too many on here and there validation is zero this whole propaganda will make Joseph Goebbels look as a great man. While he was the butcher of the truth but the truth must be told in his absence and that of others on here. Thing is this it is not what say but the way you the way you say it there was no decorme nor the least sympathy for us all by the person who said you are all just POSTMEN!

That's right you will not get anything like £1500 lump sum.

1. It is taxable

2. It is the very beginning of the new tax year

On the week you get paid out the £1500 lump sum + wages HMRC will assume you are now earning around £2k per week and will heavily tax you assuming that is your weekly gross for the new finacial year going forward.

They will deduct £500+ from that phat weeks payout.......

Then you will scream.......and rant down the phone.

Then for the next 5-6 weeks you will pay low or zero tax until you claw back that initial savage deduction.........

So you will eventually pocket the £1500 lump sum but YOU WILL NOT recieve it in anything like one lump. #CaveatEmptor
If you do get overtaxed you can put it right on Gov.uk and get reimbursed the following week

You’ve got me. I’ve been posting here for nearly 16 years despite not being a postman at all. That or I just don’t agree with you and have a different opinion. Take your pick.

That's not true! Hmrc may assume that's your new salary and suggest a new tax code. However payroll would not adopt a new tax code for a 1 week bonus, as your annual wage won't exceed the 20% tax threshold.Hmrc are more concerned about your final annual wage.

I think you might be getting a bit carried away. My previous reply was a flippant retort to a post that read like a post-match interview of a losing football manager. References to ‘pieces of silver’ and ‘selling one’s soul’ all come across as cliche slogans rather than actual thought and opinion.

I’m not even sure what you mean by ‘those who wish to do us all wrong in our eyes’. That is a tongue twister and no mistake.
