We have been told, there will be one redelivery attempt and then it will be booked in as normal. Posties will have two different P739’s. One for 1st attempt and one for 2nd.
Not sure If collecting from CSP will be an option, but our COM seems to think it will be.
I’m sure it will work in some offices and be a disaster in others.

Two different P739’s? Yet another ‘efficiency saving’ made nonsensical by an unnecessary new cost. Customers don’t bother reading the existing one.

I’ve done LATs and they have a yellow card which says we’ve attempted delivery and will try again tomorrow.

Its one 739 card with 2 sections, one for first attempt and the other for the second
Any items not delivered on first day go back to your
own frame and get the usual indoor scan . There is no address for the D.O on the card .

Good idea if it works, usual RM policy not to let staff know what’s happening, guess there will be redundancies in CSP as there won’t be the work especially as I have heard on the 2nd visit there will only be two options have it redelivered for a 3rd time or pick it up from a local post office, collection from a CSP will not be available.

When local post offices get overloaded with all the 739'd items they'll just start refusing the 739'd items and Local Collects

Then return parcels back to office, sticker them up refused then return to sender. Royal Mail can then deal with the fallout.

Your right most post offices are tiny and could handle no more than a few items. I also assume Royal Mail would have to pay them for the privilege.

Think I remember reading in the last year about the PO branches being free to accept items for other couriers. if it's true then any Local Collects and 739'd items will have to compete for space with parcels for other couriers

I know my local post office is also an eBay collection point. The other problem is some post offices are closing down. In my local area alone 6 have closed in the last 3 years.

So what happens to Callers Office staff who can't do deliveries due to heath issues etc, redundancy, even though the company is promising not to make any redundancies?

One rural round I cover doesn't have a PO, what happens with those rounds, we have to drop them off at the nearest PO even if it's not on our round?

Got told this 2day. We will be getting new 739 cards soon. Probably when we get the new 739 cards. We will stop using the old 739 cards

Probably IHR, hopefully before the new watered down IHR scheme gets introduced!
