What sort of day off system would you choose now?
OK there's a fair few on here that would like to scrap the Saturday delivery and have a Monday-Friday delivery structure.
THIS POLL IS NOT ABOUT SCRAPPING THE SATURDAY DELIVERY!
For the foreseeable future we will have to continue to deliver on Saturday, so that won't be an option for now.
So with that in mind what would you choose if your office was offered a chance to vote for change of system!
(BTW this poll is aimed at delivery staff)

For me it has to be rotating day off - long weekend every 6 weeks
- Although under flexibility they are looking at 6 day weeks at my DO.

Will that be the Wallington weeks you're referring to? It's what I work. You work a six-day week, but one day is used to accrue a week off every six weeks. So in effect you're working six days, paid for five and the extra day goes towards the sixth week off.traww wrote:Pls explain 6 day weeks? didnt that happen in the old days or am a month too early for april fools?TrueBlueTerrier wrote:For me it has to be rotating day off - long weekend every 6 weeks![]()

Think I WOULD consider 3days on, 4 days off for same money. It would create lots of jobs, raise tax revenue, cut benefit spending, improve sickness absence rates, boost consumer spending and help the economy.
So for happier ,healthier, wealthier posties vote for the three day week, you know it makes sense

We've had the 5 week on, 1 week off (wallington week/rest week) system in our office since the introduction of SDD about 4 years ago. It works well most of the time & having the week off every 6 weeks gives you the time to get things done round the house....or take a short holiday if you want! Although, by the time our rest week comes round we're so knackered that we don't generally do too much!

Is it actually legal for an employer to "withhold" 1 days pay for 5 weeks? Because in effect that is what they are doing.RobRoyThePostie wrote:

Just a thought
