Also commit to deliver will not mean overtime if annualised hours are involved. Unless plus ten hours are accumulated so we may get a couple of hours a week overtime lol

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I'll health, "tapering down of 34 weeks payment" for every week of sick absence taken, so if you've had 6 months off over your time at RM, you will get f**k all on ihr, cos it will be taken off the 34 weeks. Horrible c***s.

Seasonal flex 365 days a year. How does this work. Need more detail on this.

Pros
  • Seasonal working - is off the table as flexi hours are insignificant
Sickness proposals ok - being on statutory for 3 days means that taking a week off "because everyone else does won't be worth it" - but if you are genuinely sick full sick pay will kick in on the 4th day.
    Work to completion off table
Cons
  • Pay - A flat sum is better than a kick in the mush but it's essentially a bribe - whenever someone offers you a bribe you'd better wonder why - A backdated pay offer that works out the same as the £1,500 is better. Then a 2023 pay rise that is closer to the 10.6% we are at just this February. RM is offering 3 years to get stability - well they can pony up a bit more for that - they caused all the instability anyway with a miserly 2% offer when inflation was running at +10%.
Ill health - that is sneaky, spiteful and underhand - totally uncalled for. People wreck their bodies doing this job so when the time comes that our bodies won't give more their should be adequate compensation.

A backdated pay offer would be much fairer for part timers who do a lot of extra hours than a pro rata lump sum.

A much fairer offer would be they abide by the agreements they made in the past and not rewrite history and drag us all though this so they can feather their own nests!

I remember when we started at 5.30 everyone was saying this job would be better if it was 9 to 5 Monday to Friday I'm with the cwu but we have to move with the times give and take on both sides but that pay offer over 3 years is not good

Give and take is all well and good but this deal on the table is all take. Can somebody point me in the direction of the give bits and when I say that I mean as our terms and conditions are now not the so called improvement on their equally shitty offer in November 22.

What they are proposing to do in regards to sickness policy is disgraceful. Basically if your body is f**ked after years of trudging the streets for hours with heavy bags and you end up long term sick you aren't even going to get the miserable ill health retirement package given presently. That's the thanks you get for lining the pockets of ST and his cohorts. The board should hang their heads in shame but there is no shame in them.

The carrying of bags instead of trolleys were banned a decade ago.

If people now have bad backs carrying pouches then there is no comeback

A backdated pay award of 9% for 2022, then we'll start on negotiating 2023's pay.
Lol, and back to the real world.....
It would work out as 7% back pay given that we've had the 2% already. So that would cost them £1750 per £25k full timer.

How is that not in the real world, it's only a bit more than the lump sum they proposed.

And a 9% pay offer is what we deserve given that inflation has been up as high as 11%, and not to mention other unions/businesses have been awarding sums around that level or higher.

If people accept less RM are truly taking you for mugs.

Forget the 3 year deal, they've shown they can't be trusted with agreements. NO LUMP SUM, 7-9% backdated to April 2022 in addition to the 2% already imposed. 20% of my wages will be going on childcare when the finish times go back.

No seasonal/annualised hours or compulsary flex. This will never be voted in.

Buyout of legacy payments doesn't involve me however we should be paid the same wage for doing the same job, including new entrants.

No change on ihr. This job causes ihr.

Sick pay - What about the 3rd absence onward though? No mention of that or the fact that statutory sick pay is £0 for the first 3 days absence.

Pay deals to be negotiated annually BEFORE the new tax year starts and preferably in line with inflation.

Bare minimum 6% pay increase from April 2023.
