Remember full timers are due at least £1800 @ 9% backdated without 1 minute overtime when some last year got over £140,000 so without that it's a no from me and I hope alot more would agree I'd reckon I'm owed over 3500

Re: No more strikes?
3.5 % backpay and at least 11% this year and i'll vote for the deal anything less and they can poke it as for the threat of administration i dont buy it but if they do i dont care .

Re: No more strikes?
Where is back pay coming from if they have no money? Do you all really think demanding anything will work?
We need to shape the future not the past it with us all to do this but arbitrary demands help no one personally I would like 500k but this is what got us all into this situation ie spending more than our income. Whos fault is that the whole board of RM I am not anti this or that just realistic and am open to the solutions of you all but this cannot go on forever reality hits hard sometimes.

Currently it’s a shite jobcornstar18 wrote: ↑01 Apr 2023, 19:15Currently it's still a good job. If it no longer fits childcare needs other jobs do. Not the employers problem. It is the employers problem
Deal would not end toxic atmosphere
Childcare doesn’t come into it
Why didn’t managers who got handsome vr,s just go and find something else
And it feels worse than the 70 s
You really want to do a wee bit of research before spouting your opinionated pish

Re: No more strikes?
Im not after 500k just a realistic hourly rate for the physically hard job we do ,if i wanted poor pay id go be a cleaner in a nice warm building,if the company cant afford it get a robot or go into administration or some other mug who works for peanuts ,but i doubt even an Evri parcel delivery driver would want to walk in the rain for 5 hours ,the CWU can not come back with a pay rise that bad.k979aaa wrote: ↑01 Apr 2023, 22:04Where is back pay coming from if they have no money? Re: No more strikes?
I don't think we will see anymore strikes now or back pay deal or administration (union out if administration route followed)

Re: No more strikes?
And if that’s the case a LOT of people will leave the union……what’s the point in paying subs for nothing

Re: No more strikes?
It is a physical job. But I think the pay is about right for what we do. If the pay rise isn’t great the union should try and force through that low letterboxes are banned as they are probably the most taxing moments on the back and legs.
I have been on duties where some of the new builds are littered with these low letterboxes and I’m struggling by the end. So much so that I don’t deliver to many now. Luckily my duty has not many at all.
It’s clear that the pay deal isn’t going to be great and that the start times will change so let’s change the little annoying things instead.
I also think a system where customers have to either nominate a safe place or guarantee to be in (or a nominated neighbour) otherwise they get a text telling then to collect from the office.
Maybe even a system where if the temperature is freezing or about say 32 then you get given an extra 20 minute break.
I just think if the union can’t get a good deal then the little things may take the edge of it.

Re: No more strikes?
That's the problem, people will look at the pay rise (if it exists). There'll be no mention of ending the "culture" issues and no standards/procedure for what is an acceptable workload.hans solo wrote: ↑02 Apr 2023, 07:32Currently it’s a shite jobcornstar18 wrote: ↑01 Apr 2023, 19:15Currently it's still a good job. Re: No more strikes?
Both agreements were voted in by deliveries as staff in deliveries outnumber staff in RDCs and MCs combined by at least 2:1, probably now by 3:1 or even 4:1 with the big increase in the use of casuals in MCs over the last 2-3 yearsaiden01 wrote: ↑02 Apr 2023, 11:08An they were still voted in.yubin282 wrote: ↑02 Apr 2023, 11:05That's the problem, people will look at the pay rise (if it exists). Re: No more strikes?
They are getting looked into by a third party are they not? why is that not a acceptable outcome?sounds like the union want reps back who behaved poorlySurfpostie wrote: ↑01 Apr 2023, 13:36I heard today from a good source, that there will be no more strikes. The only sticking point are the issues regarding the reps. Personally that issue needs sorting before we sign up to any agreement. I know from reading posts on here that not everyone agrees with me. Martin Walsh, any news mate? Sounds like nearly there at last

1. Low level letterboxes - is a building regulations issue, CWU can campaign for it but they can't 'force it through', latest LTB on it isFilthyBloke wrote: ↑02 Apr 2023, 09:44It is a physical job. 2. Customers can 'in flight' this sort of detail/solution now. Don't know how you can force someone to 'guarantee to be in' - if they're not
what's the 'punishment' - RTS? That wouldn't go down well with the sending customer if it's one of the big 'Tracked' contracts. People
already get or can look for a status notification if the item has a barcode that is trackable, but half the time the customer who spends ages
ordering parcels off the t'interweb don't seem to able to check the status of their items to make an 'in flt' request the night before.
3. Too many variables with the temperature thing. Freezing where and at what time? If it's freezing at 9am when you're indoors
prepping but is 5 degs when you go out but drops down to freezing again at 2pm do you get extra 20? If a 9am SD driver goes out
in the minus temperatures for an hour then comes back into the office do they get an extra 20? But if you're out on a rural
and it's freezing where can you take your break where it's warm...etc. etc. Do you book it at the end? - and that's a whole different
thread topic! If it's freezing out in the sticks but a toastie 3 degrees outdoors in the town do only the rurals get the extra?
