Re: Update 28/03/2023
It's not mentioned a word on annualised hours or seasonal hours so have they dropped that entirely or is it in the cards still?? The indoor prepping I pretty much expected, hell why not cuz dumbasses give an half hour to an hour of that for free anyways.
So expecting them to cut more walks further down the line. Rest is once again vague as f**k. And no back pay as expected. And union continuing to threaten RM with the "I mean it! I will go on strike", instead of just getting on with it. Both sides are a joke.

Re: Update 28/03/2023
If the attacks on us continue with no sick pay when your actually off on the sick, reinstating folk that have been suspended, performance related on a daily basis (it's not a conversation, it's an interrogation), moving people around in short notice.
Then a strike is inevitable. Bring it on, let the company burn because I don't think and many would hopefully agree that we deserve to be treated better than this, instead of feeling worthless when we set foot through the workplace.

Get a different job. If this job makes you feel worthless find employment somewhere else that makes you happy.Duesouth wrote: ↑28 Mar 2023, 19:45If the attacks on us continue with no sick pay when your actually off on the sick, reinstating folk that have been suspended, performance related on a daily basis (it's not a conversation, it's an interrogation), moving people around in short notice.

Need to down tools from here on, if the company’s in the toilet let it go, what odds If it’s next week or next month why bother putting any further effort in. Need every union member turning down ANY OT and knock at least 20% off their effort levels, save your energy for a new job

Your starting to mirror Redlen.FilthyBloke wrote: ↑28 Mar 2023, 19:37Ah the old ‘solidarity’ sign off.
So basically they are still miles apart.
As for the reps who are being disciplined on trumped up charges… let an independent panel judge that. Keep it out of the agreement. Some of them deserve to be disciplined.
All in all, more talks are needed. I say the union shows us the deal so far agreed and puts it to the members.

More talks needed? They've been talking for 11 months!FilthyBloke wrote: ↑28 Mar 2023, 19:37Ah the old ‘solidarity’ sign off.

And from that list they are nowhere near. If all that gets put to the members it's obvious that we are going to vote against it. Where did the lose 20-25 mins of indoor prep come from? RM are just throwing stuff into the mix for fun in the hope that we strike. The whole RM board need to be sacked for gross mismanagement
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

If I ever loved anyone half as much as management loves those super-hubs, I would've gotten married at 19.

They do. But they won’t. The real powers that be are probably quite happy with them.postslippete wrote: ↑28 Mar 2023, 19:51More talks needed? They've been talking for 11 months!FilthyBloke wrote: ↑28 Mar 2023, 19:37Ah the old ‘solidarity’ sign off.

Re: Update 28/03/2023
To be honest the prep time has been diminishing for the last 10 years or more. Every time we had our hours cut it normally impinged on prep time. 25 mins is a big hit though with more calls as well.

Re: Update 28/03/2023
Mail prep takes 30 mins on a bad day it’s the parcel prep that really eats into indoor time which I doubt they have even bothered to calculate standards for. Embarrassed to work for this company, we now say I work for the post office and hope people assume that’s counters

Re: Update 28/03/2023
Pessimistically I imagine that the CWU will announce strikes, and mention the suspended reps in the strike announcement. Then RM will have it legally challenged as the ballot wasn't for that

If they are still miles off, what does it matter? If it gets to the point where that is all that's left to agree on then fine. Putting a vote to the membership is an absolute waste of time.

Accept this deal (whatever it is right now ) or go into administration.
I think a lot of people would rather have a job than not.

Re: Update 28/03/2023
Work to rule strike needed. No point in standing on picket lines again, losing wages and facing two or three days worth of mail as we are experiencing that already with unachievable workloads. It's been obvious from day one that the company are hellbent on running the USO down.heraldmoth wrote: ↑28 Mar 2023, 19:48Need to down tools from here on, if the company’s in the toilet let it go, what odds If it’s next week or next month why bother putting any further effort in. More all out strikes are just going to further divide the workforce because the cost of living crisis means that staff simply can't afford to strike in that way.
