financial madness
Another fine example of the lunatics running the asylum. A man due to retire this summer is offered evr and goes last october while the pegusus review is taking place. As he is the only one who knows how to re-do the frames for the new walks they have had to bring him back on a 3 month contract at £200 a day. Because he took evr to comply with employment reg's they had to do it through an employment agency so they are taking a cut as well!!!!!!!.

Any married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing.

Royal Mail and planning in the same sentance just dont fit that one, according to the managment in our DO we dont have a training budget so they dont do it as we cant afford it but we can afford 6 usless managers for less than 90 staff we did have more staff but they have either left gone sick or been sacked for a number of reasons.

Organizing Brewery Parties
sevenandseven wrote:Under this new supposed flexibility idea couldn't they have brought someone in from another office who was trained to do the job rather than pay £200 a day? They must have been aware this man was leaving and should have planned for it. Oh, sorry, I forgot this is Royal Mail.
He'll be a "Management Consultant "'--average pay £50-60 per hour , the NHS , Civil Service and Royal Failure have loads of them.
They can be parasites , usually they are there to say yes , do someone's dirty work or if the organization can't plan/failure to and/or manage.
"A Businessman and a consultant had a meeting , the businessman asked what the consultant's rates would be for the suggested project .
"We structure the project up front , and charge £500 for three questions" ,replied the consultant ",
"Isn't that awfully steep ?" , asked the businessman
"Yes it is ", the consultant replied , and "what was your third question ?".
MURDERERS. Need to dispose of a body? Simply parcel it up and post it to yourself via DHL. You will never see it again.

Management consultants
A few years ago I met up with an old school friend who had gone on to University and after some
management jobs went on to become a management consultant.
He said that basically the procedure was to get a brief from the client which would indicate what
they wanted (and what they wanted to hear).
The consultant would then research to get the evidence to support what the client wanted
to hear, and present it with charts, graphs, bullet points and all the requisite management jargon.
The client could then do what they had wanted to do anyway and say it was being done on independent
consultants advice and recommendation.
And he got paid a lot more than £200 a day.
He's probably working as a consultant for RM now.

Happens in our offices.bandit650 wrote:Royal Mail and planning in the same sentance just dont fit that one, according to the managment in our DO we dont have a training budget so they dont do it as we cant afford it but we can afford 6 usless managers for less than 90 staff we did have more staff but they have either left gone sick or been sacked for a number of reasons.
We now have 3 NEW line managers (Never seen their hands, always in their pockets) in the mornings who do f**k all. They just stand by the signing in desk for f***ing hours. The other day I went up to them and asked if they could get some coffins for us because we had had a load taken by another office. Reply "cant you do it yourself we are busy". We watched them drink more coffee than is good for you over the next 1/2 an hour and watched them just chat. Oh yes and guess whats posted on the office entrance......... a notice asking people to apply to become new..............................line managers.
And on the subject of wasted money.
We had a driver retire last week. RM have known about this for 3 months. Who replaces him? No-one it is going out on docket. Thats 8 hours a day for 6 days? £480.00 per week.........duuuuuuuuh

My problem with this is that we could and probably will be massively over budget in the coming months. SO what will RM management do, look for ways to cut back.
We have a silly line manager she could'nt fight her way out of a paper bag more useless than i can find words for her favourite saying this week was we dont have problems we have issues what money did they waste on training her to say that and shes always standing there eating a chocolate bars never really understood what shes there for and yes you deal with your issues because im to busy is a new way of saying p**** off.
Its a f***ing mess, I tells ya.
