volume of mail on saturdays

Post by fed_up_postie »

has any other delivery office noticed that the volume of mail on saturdays has got alot heavier this year, we are getting 10-12 coded bundles of 1st and 2nd class mail on saturdays now where as we used to get about 4-6, they are no where near as light as it used to be, is this just in the south wales area or nationwide?

It's DSA replacing MS3 that's causing that so it's gonna get worse in the future

Too right. All we seem to deliver on saturdays is competitors mail :speak to the hand Charge them full price and lets see how keen they would be then shipping all their s**t out on a friday for saturday delivery. Not so keen then methinks :evil/mad

We have at least 50% more mail on Saturday than we used to.

The DOM has been trying to increase our Saturday ours for over a year now so it would seem that RM knew the mail volumes would increase and I am under the impression that RM is going to release a new Saturday Delivery product which would make them a fortune.

Is t me or are we delivering a lot more TNT etc on Saturday? We are told to treat it as 1st class but it's obvioulsy just Mailsort and I'm sure TNT are saying they gaurantee Saturday delivery even though RM aren't being payed for it.

The amount of s**t we deliver on a Saturday has increased three fold in our office and Saturday is now the busiest day of the week. So much for :lfo and his Saturdays will be considerably lighter.

The sooner we all go to a Mon to Fri the better for all.

Scrap Saturday delivery, lose 1/6 of the workforce by VR and make it a 9 - 5 job.

Be careful what you wish for - it may come true.

TNT mail, and any DSA mail is 1st class,it IS NOT like Mailsort.

Funny, isn't it, that if you order something and want a Saturday delivery from TNT or any other courier you have to pay extra. And also how councils always manage to send their bulk stuff out on a Saturday.
